  1. Good thread!!!! Any one who uses an electric grinder and cannot sharpen a 25" bar on site in under 5 minuets, or uses ladders or a MEWP, should not be allowed to work in our industry!!!!!!
  2. I think you are getting confused by people using the term "arb waste". Trees removed in arb operations are infact not waste, they are "virgin timber", even the EA have now accepted that. Virgin timber can and should be used as fuel, to not do so would be very wasteful. Truly waste timber, pallets and other timber that has already being used in construction etc, cannot be used as it has often been treated with chemicals or painted.

    Beech fell

Well said!!!:thumbup1: I would argue that breaking down the crown of a large hard wood thats been felled can be much more dangerous than climbing.
  5. Explosives is cheating, Fred would have used a big hammer and a match.

    Beech fell

That was the biggest, but there were a fair few not much smaller. I'm thinking of burning all the brash, maybe hire a telly handler and grab.

Short clip of a Beech I felled, part of a large site clearance.
  10. Is the 150 even a pro saw?? Not a saw I've ever considered personally.
  11. Yew has to be my favourite, burns red hot and looks pretty in the basket
  12. Agreed!!! Its always the same people who moan, when its wet they moan, when its dry they moan, when its cold they moan, when its warm they moan:001_rolleyes: I guess they just like to moan:001_rolleyes:
  13. Really:confused1: Why would you loctite it, can't really see any need, its not a part that I've ever known come loose.
  14. Money does not make you happy, but it sure does make being miserable comfy.
  15. Did you ask for the old drums and shoes back?? I can understand the drums rusting and that rust destroying the shoes, but for the drums to be trashes seems very strange.

I generally weld something (a bit of bar or a nut) to the end of sheared studs and then use the attached bar or nut to unscrew the stud. Some times just sticking a welding rod to the end of the stud is enough to get it out.
  17. We've had a pool for a few years now, started with an Entex 30'x12', then upgraded to Regatta 10Mx5M. I heat ours with wood, its been between 30c and 33c for the last two weeks, my two girls 8 and 10 spend half their lives in ours. It was a fair bit of work and expense to build and set up all the filtration, heating etc, but it paid back big time in fun and relaxation. There nothing like coming home after a hot day cutting and being able to cool down in the pool.
  18. Will be a u600 I think, which is basically a smaller version of a u900.
