  2. As you can see I'm not the only one who thinks Laylandi is perfectly good fire wood. Sure its not Beech or Ash, but it burns well and produces good heat, bon-firing it seems very wasteful to me.
  3. There is little hope for those who buy fire wood, when those who sell it are so ill informed. All wood burns fine once dry, some dries easily and some is harder to get dry, but once dry, weight for weight its pretty much all the same calorific value.
  4. Scandinavian countries burn 1000's of tons of dry soft wood per year with no issues. Try burning green hard wood, you will soon tar up your flue.
  5. Mate of mine got £100 for a transit load of unsplit, unseasoned Pop.
  6. The sap simply burns when dry. The creosote that tars up your flue is caused by low flue temperature which causes condensation.
  7. Dry Laylandi is perfectly good firewood.
  8. Off till the 6th, unless we get called out tomorrow.
  9. It is a tailer, its "trailed" behind your vehicle.
  10. My costs are often passed on to the landowner by the LA I get called out by.
  11. Beautiful yesterday, frosty this morning.
  12. Really, really enjoyed that Reg, thanks for taking the time On the under bid job, the give-away was "well at least we got some sawlogs" We've all been there. Its funny, you talk about missing home, I live a mile from where I was born and often wished I'd traveled, I guess there pro's and con's to both. Merry Christmas mate
  13. NO CATCHES WILL TAKE AWAY THE WOOD TOO. Hehe, I wonder how they would feel if you asked them to leave the wood:sneaky2:
  14. I thought every one runs a 8t on there 66, I would not bother with 404 though.
  15. For some this could be a very good symbiotic relationship, I really don't see why some feel the need to rubbish it just because it would not suit them.
  16. Thats a great mog at a very good price!!being disc brakes and the big gear box If I were you I'd get the cab off and get it totally sorted, I think the panels are all still available. I've got mine booked in for new wings and some bits of wielding on the cab and a proper spray job. Mines not to bad but they really are worth keeping on top of, the last cab Merc had in for my mog was £23K:001_huh:
  17. I'm just back from the butchers, collect the Turkey, sausages and I brought home some bacon
  18. I've ordered a factory reconditioned gear box from Mercedes for my Mog, will be real nice to select a gear with the horrendous noise and vibration up my arm!
