  1. I think I'd sooner let the saw go with the lump, than clip to the tree and have the saw ripped in half.
  2. People actually cut new tool strops to create a weak point?????????
  3. I think domestic users would be better of with an older used pro saw than the likes of these, just my opinion and the advice I would give a friend if asked. IMO, those with less experience befit more from better gear than the pro who's skill may well enable them to overcome the faults in equipment.
  4. Could you not just have an extension you clip on if you need it for a fat stem? I've done that with lanyard/fliplines in the past.
  5. I've not tried knocking a nail through my foot or eating broken glass, but I'm confident I would not like either.
  6. This is true, but would it not be nice to have a saw that had both, like 020 and 200 did? I agree the 540 has the power, but other than that its pretty poor IMO. I think Stihl did husqy a huge favour with the 201, I think its the 540's main selling feature
  7. They will take chip from any chipper, but the price is not great. If your chipping brash you will not get great chip, even with the best chipper, you need to be chipping timber to get good chip.
  8. I'd be inclined to stick it on a cop car, the police may well take it far more seriously if they thought they were the ones being targeted
  9. Looks like it did not survive the experience.
  10. I would still like someone try that with 540, I recon it would crumble to nothing.
  11. I just like a handshake. If someone no longer wanted me to do their job (regardless of the reason) I would not want to force my service upon them.
  12. Because the utility Co's don't own the land, but have permission to run their infrastructure through it.
  13. No, but I've spoken to a few who came pretty close, not nice at all.
  14. "End of" I hate this, if I read a well reasoned argument that make a valid point BUT ends with in "end of", I simple delete the whole thing from my mind. How can any one be so arrogant that they think they have covered every possible point in any discussion and the discussion is now over???????? NOBS!!!!!
  15. All laterals are extended, or they would just be a twig, there is an ideal length to thickness ratio for laterals, if they exceed this in length, but not girth, they are over-extended, IMO.
  16. "Like" why do idiots use this word when they mean is, was or where no word need???????????? "He was "like" well rude", etc, etc!!! FOOLS!!!
  17. The fuel tank has opened up on the seam next to where the saw attachment is, I've glued it and put a washer under saw attachment allan stud, which has slowed the leak to a weep. The whole body is out of line, due to the real AV distorting. The way the side cover fits is very poor, the stud is too far forward, IMO, the chain tensioner is horrible, on a conifer job I've actually had the chain come off the back of the bar adjacent to the sprocket, but still keep running, never had that with any other saw. I was really hopeful when I bought it, but have been here disappointed
  18. Yes, but fixable, it was the fat in his arteries that was dislodged by the impact that blocked the circulation, leading to the death of his leg, requiring amputation, very sad.
  19. IMO its OK, but not great, the build quality is pretty crap.
  20. I bet that poor biker wishes he'd led a healthier lifestyle, to survive such a terrible crash, but loose your leg due to fat in your arteries must be tough to deal with.
