  1. No, but if someones tree is causing you a "nuisance" you are entitled to adapt the "nuisance", IE overhanging branches from next doors tree can be removed.
  2. You are doing them a favour letting them run someone else's wire over your property, they are doing you a favour running a wire to you, thats the difference as I understand it.
  3. Yes, your line and your trees, your responsible, but your trees and someone else's line BT's lookout.
  4. I think Paul is referring to the risk of being thrown about if the stem stands back up after the tops removed. You just need to be ready if it does.
  5. Some do have nasty venom, but none (other than false widow) have mouth parts capable of breaking human skin, so we are safe
  6. Why do I need to be either? I don't feel its for me, but don't feel the need to slag it off when it may help others.
  7. Was anyone suggesting it was compulsory?????
  8. Never used it and don't want to, but then in 20+years of saw use I've never cut myself so why would I? Many people do cut themselves, so the I'm not going to claim saws are safe for all.
  9. No, but the HSE take notice all saw injuries and make life more difficult for us pro's. The less saw incidents the better, IMO.
  10. Do the dealers who sell saws to the public not attend the APF??
  11. Who mentioned XP saws?? is it only fitted to them?? I've only seen it at the APF, did not look of uses to me, but thought it could be OK for those less familiar with saws.
  12. Are hobby/ocational users really "snedding"??
  13. If it makes occasional users have less accidents, meaning less legislation for me, its a good thing IMO, horses for courses.
  14. The point is to make the saw safer.
  15. A slack wire will sit nicely in a fork, the wind moves the fork, hay presto insulation rubbed away.
  16. As far as I'm aware yes, BT chose to run a wire over your land and through you trees to someone else so thats BT's choice, if you want BT to run a line to you, your responsible for the section over your land (or can be)
  17. No, branches moving in the wind will soon rub though the insulation.
  18. If its your supply your responsible (or can be) if its some one else's its BT's look out.
