  1. No, its a grey slate roof, so large stone slabs, if the rain is really, really hard you can get a bit finding its way in, it stopped dripping as soon as the rain eased back to more normal levels. Its fine.
  2. Thats the one!!!!! The lighting is just passing us, but its a fair way off, hope your building is ok, but makes sense to wait till first light to check it out. Are you very high up there?? I can hear dipping in the loft, the heavy rain must have found a way through our ancient roof.
  3. Hooffing it down here too, walk me up lashing against the windows. ("walk" can't be right?? but can't for the life of me think of the correct spelling) I knew the farmer across the way was making a mistake cutting his grass last night.
  4. :thumbup1:Sounds like a plan
  5. Not at all Just made me smile
  6. What tell people the fire is gay????????
  7. But you felt the need to start a thread:confused1::confused1::confused1:

    lawn feed ?

Not watering sounds like huge error to me, but I'm but a humble tree man so I may be very wrong.
  10. I try to limit my carbs where I can, seems to help reduce my hypertension.
  11. What was the reason for not simply felling it???
  12. Nope, and for the umpteenth time, I don't eat chips Oh dear.
  13. The Eleven plus is still alive and well up here, my son who was top of his class at primary, he did not wish to take the 11+, many of his peers did. He went to the local comprehensive, his peers went to the grammar. He got 7 "A"stars plus other "A"s and a few "B"s. He achieved higher results than any of his peers. He's done maths, further maths, chemistry and physics at A level and is hoping to study maths at Warwick. You don't need to go to the grammar school to do well, its down to hard work
  14. Thats no different to most Ash, Sycamore, Lime, Beech or pretty much any heavily reduced mature tree, as mentioned excellent habitat and easily managed with re-pollarding every few years. Personally I would not cut below the previous cuts, I'd leave a just a nub of the regrowth.
  15. I've heavily reduced 1000's, can't recall one that did not come back.
  16. Got to respect a gaffer who leads from the front, good for him!!!!!
  17. Having machines is like having animals. I remember many, many years ago I very reluctantly informed my farmer friend and neighbour that one of his cows was dead in the field, he took the news very well, I expressed my sorrow for his loss, his comment has stayed with me ever since, " not to worry Dave, when you have live stock, you will also have dead stock, that just life". I guess at least with our machines we can resurrect them if funds allow!!!
