  1. Very nice!!!! I would kill for a building like that!!!
  2. Not everyone know just how much work you put into these things Steve, I take my hat off to you sir!!!
  3. Well done Steve, outstanding effort and well done to all the sponsors, some fantastic prizes!!! Times are tough, just making a living is difficult (or is it just me?) and the fact that so many have been prepared to help out those less fortunate than themselves is very heart warming!!! Good on all involved!!, its a VERY worthy cause:thumbup1:
  4. I have myself made this very same spelling error in the past, but as anyone with dyslexia will confirm there are days when I can't spell "then", genuinely Thank goodness for spell check Although it still catches me out from time to time, sure its a correct spelling………..but is it the correct word????
  5. Shame they can't even get the chain tension right
  6. Thats just a bit of good luck on the neighbours part, I guess if it bothers you, simply knock what you make on the little job of the main job. Life is not always fair, some people get an opportunity and take it
  7. How do you come to that concussion??? Lets say I'm charging Mrs Jones £500 pounds to fell her tree, I get there at 9 work until 4.30, she pays me the £500, I leave. Alternatively, Lets say I'm charging Mrs Jones £500 to fell her tree, I get there at 9 work until 4.30, then nip next door for 10 minuets do a small job for £??, the at 4.45 I collect my £500 from Mrs Jones and leave. In both situations Mrs Jones got her tree felled for the £500 agreed, so she is IMO unaffected.
  8. NO!! You referred to people who offer to carry at out work at a reasonable rate as "arseholes" which I still feel is unfair.
  9. It light down your way at 3am:confused1: Up here its not light till getting for 8am just now.
  10. Thats unfair:thumbdown: If you are going just to do that job there must be a minimum charge, as it will take a slice of your day and cost you real money. If your already there and your costs are covered by the job you'r there to do, a freebie will cost you little too nothing.
  11. You are posting as though the whole thread is about the "lemon water" situation, the thing is TY is using that to justify the extra charges on a paying job. So maybe he is being fair or maybe he is TTP, I don't know which
  12. I think you have missed the fact that this is clearly a marketing ploy:sneaky2: Or am I just too cynical???
  13. Personally I think all students should be given two weeks floating holiday (taken from the existing holiday) then all families (teacher would also have the floating weeks) could chose when they went away and this would break the holiday Co cartel.
  14. No, the fine is for "unauthorised absence" the head can "authorise" the absence in which case there would be no penalty.
  15. Once had a lad who had a phobia of Birds, a single feather would totally freak him out.
  16. I often do small extras for free, in reality they cost me very little, but the goodwill they can generate is priceless IMO.
  17. Employers struggle to pay more because are competing with people topping conifers for a coupe of hundred a day.
  18. THIS!!!! I used to drop everything and rush off for call out, not any more, I've turned down 4 in the last 4 weeks, my family life is worth far more that any call out fee, IMO
  19. Oh stop it, your just being mean now :crying:
  20. How many threads do we need to endure before there is at least a price???
  21. True, but if you get a name locally as a subbie, the other Co's will know your not on the books, I think a small consideration (the £100 mentioned) and a credit on the vid would be fair , IMO.
  22. Yes, because other tree firms never look at their competitors sites
