  2. Found this whilst searching for some info on the posion Ivy rope, May be of use to some one. HOWTO: Create a Climbing Rope Washer
  3. Hi marc,

How did your chipper assesments go, did Roddie pass his cs41 acessment on tue?

    Paul.

  4. When I first left collage I was made to spike up a Syc with no ropes for line clearence, had the saw in one hand at full revs and kicked back into my right calf. I was wearing type c trowsers and the saw cut right through and cut my leg. none of the blocking material pulled out as I hit the seam.
  5. Gatorade, my brother baught me some back from when he was in the Gulf. Its excelent the only problem is that it isnt avaliable over here but you can get it on ebay.
  6. Rations.
  7. Is there much differance between the Petzl and the cheeper Camp swivels. Do the guys that have the tree motion put the swivle on the bridge or connect it with a biner and do you keep or remove the ring that comes on the bridge?
  8.
  9. I thought about doing it as good will, PR but I bet that if the cat had jumped or I had dropped it and had got injured I would have been sued for the vets bill or had to claim on PL. Also if it was a nail in a first floor water pipe and water was pissing through the sealing they would want a plummer out asap and pay some wacked up fee!
  10. Well I guess its the same as quoting for work. Each job is individual and is priced accordingly. I was there about 30mins, the tree was were easy to climb and I got the cat down safely. I charged £50 but as in the case of jamesw he would of had to charge more as the job took longer and needed 2x climbers plus some branch removal. I would guess that the best and fairest way that you could turn up to this sort of job blind is to work out a fee for the first hour for say two people then an hourly rate for subsequent hours.
  11. You got wee'd on Kipperfeet and I got a slashed chin. I was a bit concerned as to how the cat would react once I had reached it. It didn't try to climb any higher and I was able to lift her off. I thought that I would struggle to put the cat into a cat basket but she went in straight away and lowered straight down to one very happy owner.
  12. Hi guys, in the past two months ive been called out twice to rescue cats stuck up trees. Just wondered how common this is and if any one else has had to do it.

  14. Sorry to here about your loss, but if it makes any one feel any better, last night I jumped on a thief in the local M&S who was walking out the door with a shopping trolley full of whisky and other stuff, well over £400 worth. The robbing thieving family got there 8 year old daughter to push the trolley out! Police came and nicked him but I bet he gets off.
  15. If its all you can afford and your going to earn money with it, you've definitely made the right decision!
