  8. Hear you go, look at the bottom left under case law. Both are on there. http://www.aie.org.uk/ http://www.aie.org.uk/resources/aie_db_law.html Hope that helps!
  9. That must have been a big stump! what was it?
  10. Was wondering how much stump grinding you guys get and how much of your business it makes up. Some guys I know say that they don't get a lot come in where others get a lot and there are a few companies around hear that only do grinding. Also how do you tend to price for the work price quoted per stump or a price per inch. If its only a small stump is there a minimum price that you would go out for? I normally wait until I've got a few jobs together and then hire a machine out. When grinding I always try to get as much of the stump out as possible, mostly get the whole thing out but come across a few recently that other people have done and have only been ground to just under ground level + charged a lot for doing so. What do you tend to do with the grindings fill to level, take away completely and fill with top soil.

  15. My brother is an officer in the Navy and he had to work very hard to get there, uni and then Dartmouth. Once they have passed out from Dartmouth They still have a huge amount of training, work to do. Curently he is on HMS Cambletown which replaced HMS Cornwall late last year. I used to be in the academy alot as I whipped in to there Beagle pack, never saw Harry but i saw William train and spoke to him a couple of times when he came out hunting and he got treated the same as everybody else.

  21. Well boots we don't work in a laboratory! accidents can happen in different was, I for one wont be buying a pair of these boots no matter what this new video shows and i don't think any one else on hear would buy a pair either.
  22. Spikes on take downs only!
  23. You are right treediver but latley all im getting is thats expensive or people want work done for nothing even though they can see the truck chipper labour etc and then you tell them how much insurance costs. When I first started I did some work for a guy who moned and wanted the price down, he went out and spent £500 on a bottle of wine for a dinner he was having but moaned about paying me £150 a day for doing a load of fencing. Allthougt we love the job its still a buisness and we have to make money, its a hard dangerous job and i dont think were appriciated enuf.
  24. I think that if your company carried out work on contruction sites then you would need a cis card, I don't know if you would need one if it was just a one off job. I think it was to stamp out cash in hand and making sure all monies paid was declared to HMCAE.
  25. I know a kitchen and bathroom fitter and he works on his own and fits high end stuff and makes very good money and doesn't have half of the out lay on equipment I have and most in portantly his work is appriciated and the people he does the work for are willing to pay the price for the work not like tree surgery where people want it done for F£&k all! Like edenarb said in another thread (an extra half hr at the end of the day tidying up will be appreciated more by the customer than the complexity of what you have been doing all day.) I also know a consevertry fitter who again has relivtely low out lay and earns very good money but the tradesman I know who earns the most Is a mastic man he is self employed his out lay is car, ladder, mastic gun, knife and he supplies the mastic and makes more on that than he buys it for. most of his work is on building sites and him and his wife earn a minimun of £1000 a day. Tree surgery is a good job, dont get me wrong but i dont think its going to make people rich.
