  2. I was wondering after reading various threads on hear about the pros and cons of having a tree surgery business, weather knowing what you know now would you do the same again or have done a completely different job. I like tree surgery but i think i could have made very good money at kitchen + bathroom fitting and it would have been a dam sites easier and i wouldn't wake up feeling like a cripple in the morning, What do you guys think?

  15. Skyhuck, what I wrote wasan't a go at you for having a loan at all it was i reply to not having any ambition!! You have a nice set up, I'm looking to expand but steadily.
  16. I've got plenty of ambition!!!! I've gone from a s111 land rover that I had to mash up brash in the back and I still have and I bought a brand new transit tipper, 6in chipper and kitted myself out with a range of saws and equipment. And I haven't borrowed a penny!!
  17. Ive done the odd call out the latest Ive finished is 3.30am both times I charged far to less. Just wondering these things, how do you price for the work, whole job of just time spent per hour say? What sort of contract do you make with the client verbal / written before you start and singed? When pricing for this do you include not being able to not work the next day if you are all bo$£oxed? How do you stand on H+S with the working hours where you could have worked all day then the whole crew called out in the evening and work most of the night.
  18. Just been to see a farmer about tipping chip, logs and any brash and he wants £40 a load and to rent a peice of land £1000 a month.

  22. Where I hire from they used to hire out the Octopussy mewps, one day I was enquiring about buying one and they showed me one out the back where some guy was doing some guttering on his house and the welds on the extending boom broke and the basket dropped but was held by the hydraulic hoses. The guy wasn't hurt luckily but I wouldnt touch a cheep Italian mewp with a barge pole.
