  1. Grows quite slowly. When it's all milled up it looks brilliant a bit like Walut.
  2. Just had a look and mine was 470 quid plus the vat for the training and the test. I had an hour or so before my second test that was 35 quid plus the vat.
  3. Maybe it was longer then. I too was shatered after it the concentration was emence especially during the reverse.
  4. I did my B+E test about this time last year. Did it with a local guy had a few lessons. I failed my first test on the driving rather than the trailer bit. If you look around the net you'll find the diagram of the reverse it's quite strict. Lots of lines and cones your not aloud to cross or hit. You can get out to have a look once and your only aloud 2 shunts. The trailer hook up is quite easy just remember break on the trailer first thing on and last thing off. The test is an hour long so 15 mins of off road manuvers then 45 mins of driving. So i spent 45 mins driving round Oxford with a trailer on.

  6. Hi Seen a few Silver Birches with almost a shrink rap on them. You couldn't tell unless you get up close but there is a film all over the bark. What causes it? Thanks Andy
  7. I have the Strech Air extreams type C. On their 3rd zip but they don't get ripped up like my Hiflexs or melt like my Husky type As. Their lighter than most trousers and cooler, yes more expensive but worth the money.
  8. How close together are they? If they are in an avenue or something simmilar a MEWP would speed things up and be a lot kinder on the body.
  9. 56 plate for the one with the timber trailer. 58 plate for the loader one.
  10. Those were tiny pics lets see if i can make them bigger no it appears not they are ment to be 640x420 pixels don't look like it. Reverse stearing has it's place when mowing and forwarding. Never had a tractor that does it though. I'd have a slightly bigger tractor that the N101 for a cab crane and harvester head one of the small T series T130 maybe. As for ground clearance it's great in the woods, however its a pain to use our chipper on as the angle of the pto is so steep. Also the lift on the arms doesn't pick the big topper up very high either. Still i love 'em especially the HiShift gear box.

  12. Valtra A95 with 10ish tonne trailer with a nackered Botex 5050 crane. Valtra A95 Hishift with Valtra 45 Loader and Fransgard 6.5 tonne winch. Skidding 10' Chestnut poles.
  13. USED Wood Chippers, VERMEER 620I offered for sale £2900 USED Wood Chippers, VERMEER 625I offered for sale £2000 Found those on Earborist. I'd look to spend a little more on the chipper. Do you need a 4x4 and a truck?

  15. Red grease in the sprocket nose and red grease in the needle bearing. The 346 is the same as the 357 as you can pump the grease down the hole in the middle. Sometimes is a good idea to take the baring out and just roll it in grease in the little tube. Gives you a chance to inspect it. Not broken a needle baring in a 346 but i've done 3 in the 357 in a year and a half. Oh and they do get greased.

  17. Keep an eye on Jas P Wilsons. They quite often have second hand trailers and cranes come up.
  18. Stay away i think it would break quite easily. There are some PTO kwick chips on Earborist going for 2500-3000 quid at the moment. Apart from being a pig to clogg they are really good. We use one behind a Massy 390 on brash i'm yet to clog it, however it is a slightly more frequent occurance doing saw mill offcuts.
  19. I agree. I have a 5-50 first aid kit in the truck and there are normally 2 of us! I've also added a couple of packs of Celox some blood stopper dressings, twizors, eye wash and a good pair of scissors as well. There is also a blanket and some cling film (for penertrating chest wounds) in the truck as well. I'm luck as the guy i work with at the weekends at least use to be a paramedic. I'm going to do one of these courses when i have the funds looks very good. Got some good press in Shooting Times.   20. Seeing this i'm considering doing it now. I like their twist on the corrispondance way of doing it. I'm going to e mail for details.
  21. Ah Wiki'd that and looked it up in my Collins book. I've no idea where you'd find one. As for a Golden Catalpa there might be one in Highfield Park although it's more likely a Indian Bean Tree. I'll try and check tomorrow.
  22. I've never hurd of one golden oak that is. Some kind of Indian Bean Tree?
  23. I've used the STIHL Oregon and Husky ones. They all do the job well enough. The advantage of the Oregon and STIHL ones is that they are clear and you can see how much fuel and oil is in the can. Also those STIHL fuel spouts last longer than the Husky eqivenlets. Although the auto cut off oil ones just seem to break on Husky Saws i've broken two on trying to fill the 346 gave up with them after that. Saying all of that i have Husky one and it does just fine. It's on it's 4 fuel spout but it does look the smartest of the lot. If i got another it would be a husky one.
  24. I like that nice little skidder. I'd put some kind of mesh screen over the rear window just incase the winch line snaps.
