  1. I started saving from when I was about 17.Not really for a business but for the future. Then I worked for companies around the world for ten years before starting up. Doing it again,I would invest less. But little finance makes for easy sleep when things get slow. Think if your question was worded like this. "For all those mechanics out there, did you get any experiance first?Do you have any qualifications,or did you just jump straight in with a Halfords Socket set and a stack of Haines manuals?" Experiance counts far more in this game than many. I would advise to work for someone for a few years,do you side jobs on the weekend and then take it from there.Volunteer to help out some local Tree firms for free, show them your a grafter.
  2. The only thing I wouldn't bring is your Rope. It will cut into your baggage allowance, just make sure everything you bring is spotless.I nearly got done in December for bringing boots in.I hadn't worn them on a farm or Forest but they still got the hump with me and threatend to fine me $1500.

    Hi

Welcome to the forum mate! Sorry to hear about your hard times, maybe look at your current situation and ask yourself "how much is this going to matter in five years time?" Being laid off could be the best thing to have happened as its pushing you in the direction you want to head in.
  4. Yes I have. It can be a long process for your prospective employer to get you a Visa. Each state has a quota of H2B Visa's they can give out.The States with the highest need for "unskilled temporary labour" get the most. My employer had to advertise the position longer, then increase the offered wage, then finally sent each application from American people applying for my position to the authorities. Then finally they granted me a Visa. Its not that there are few opportunities for climbers in the States, its just that few employers are willing to jump all the hoops
  5. Top job mate!Really,really nice.
  6. Perhaps the Whales extensive Vocabulary is in fact its downfall? If a Pod of Whales is discussing a escape strategy, then surely that plan can be picked up by underwater microphones, translated using Google and the Ships course altered accordingly? Whales don't have Google, nor fingers to type. And obviously computors won't function underwater. Plus, there is no Electricty untill the Harpoon hits them,by then it too late anyway.
  7. I used to shoot alot of Goats. They are pests back home. I designed the Scilencer on this Carbine, when your fired it,all your heard was the breech working and the Bullet hitting the Goat. Marlin Camp Carbine 9X19 Parabellum
  8. I don't think there would be alot of meat on a Vegaterian.Good idea though. Although you could probably freeze dry a number of them and use them as energy food. Like when your Whaling and don't have the time to nip into the Galley for a munch because your in the midst of a large Pod of Whales and your loader is having a hard time just keeping up with your rate of fire.
  9. The planet is running out of Oil as well mate. Are you Biking to work, growning your own Food and using Hand Tools exclusively?
  10. How can they be smarter than me? I can walk, climb and swim. All they can do is swim. WHALE FAIL!
  11. Its fantastic! Josh and I had it two nights running.I am cooking it for my girlfreind tomorrow night. Its kind of like a Rich slightly gamey Beef.
  12. You can buy Whale in the supermarket here. They are not endangered in Norway. I was not trying to be funny,I would genuinely like to be a Harpooner on a Whaler. My mate is a Navigator on large vessels and might be able to get me out on a Boat for a hunt. I won't be able to Shoot one,but it would be an experiance!
  13. I would like to be the Harpooner on a Whaling ship. Its got to be good fun and I bet you can eat as much Whale as you like.
  14. I liked that mate,good job!
  15. To be honest it was crap. The distance from the feed roller to the cutting disc to too far.The Limbs would fold back upon themselves and jamb. As you probably know, there are two Anvils in the infeed. The smaller the gab the better. It may be gapped from the factory at about 5mm,try and reduce this to as little as possible. Of course once you have the Anvils gapped to the distance you require, turn the cutting Disc by hand to ensure clearance. The feed Roller spring was not strong enough, somtimes the groundy would stand on the Hydraulic motor so it would feed.Perhaps consider replacing the Spring with a stronger one. On the upside, the machines are stoutly constructed and simple.
  16. Tilt the deck, then tilt the cab.You will have heaps of room to do what you need to do. Also if I get my Arse into gear and send you the pages of the workshop manual as I said I would that would help alot too.I have told Josh to remind me. Its his fault if I don't.
  17. I had a chipper like that... It was fine for braodleaf trees without leaves and good for round wood. You would certaily have the velocity to throw the chips into a rear chip body. However the chipper was appalling with Connifer,so bad in fact I sold it. The model I had was a Farmi CH160,I had a Finnish guy who was working for me at the time call the factory in Finland and ask why it was so bad.The said it was for bio fuel production and never intended for Tree waste.
  18. To be honest,I think the chap is more at risk from the fashion Police for having an imperfect crease on his shirt sleeve. Bad form indeed.
  19. I run an Alcohol fluid in the Air Dryer of my Mog year round. Its a white box on the same side as the Batery box.It has two settings, one for summer and the other winter.I understand that in addition to purging the water from the Air in the system it also helps prevent gunk from forming in the lines.
  20. The Bonnet on my Mog is Fiberglass.I don't know if thats standard? The Doors are deffinatly Steel,I nearly folded in half when I lifted one off the hinges.
  21. PM me your email address and I will scan the air systems info and shoot it over to you.
  22. Company logo. | Tredoktor Click on it Stevie.Go on.click on it.
