  1. hey bro-why does the gopro distort the image so much??
  2. if you use what you need then it doesnt matter how much you carry. one footlocking strop can do a lot of things to aid you in the tree. As mark said i dont do conny hedges here in NZ, if i did i'd have a lanyard and thats it. different trees demand diff gear but its good to have the "staples" on that you can depend on.
  3. imagine falling on a short bit of rope-it will hurt as no stretch. imagine falling on a 100m rope, more stretch equals less pain.

Not sure about dynaglide but stable braid is super ez. On that 24mm I've done massive long burys as I know it's going to be tested to the hilt with that setup. Bit of a change from 6mmOV that's for sure. The cougar blue is a real nice tight splice aye, bomber.

  9. watched HANNA the other night, thought it was really good.
  10. I like the way they make you stay upright on the rope rather than hang off it like a petzl ascension. the lack of knuckle guard can also be a pain. awesomly tiny. the futura chest ascender is tiny but i think its too small and not as efficent as the croll, the foot futura-i wore mine out in about 2 weeks!
  11. there great but if youve got big hands your thumb can open the cam as you cant lock it in place. I really rate mine though.

  13. wow. the bar just got raised a tad..
  14. hey mark, the poly AP feels exactly the same just a different colour and of course core. sorts out the confusion on what splice to use-100% a class1 db splice. for me it doesnt quite have the feel of OP but it does seem to last a bit longer.

yep the whole head was dead above the epiphyte bundle hence why we didnt climb above it, it had a real horrible wobble that was not good. we considered it but didnt want to cause anymore damage up there. it had derfinetly lost a couple of meters but it didnt look like it would of lost 10m. would be a very hard tree to measure from the ground due tothe creek...

  22. I hear what your saying Pete and actually tried climbing with 2 ropes Ala irata to see if it worked. It was stupid hard to climb!!! The 3d environment means its twisting and tangling etc. in my mind I see no difference between srt and dbrt- it's still only one rope after all. I see no difference between a climbing line and a long lanyard, they both stop me falling if I cut one whilst using both. Whilst I'm 100% behind being as safe as possible and having high quality safe gear, I'd hate rules and regs to stifle innovation from smaller parties who don't have massive funds backing them.
  23. A lanyard works without a wr..
  24. Crazy. Oh and a revolver redirect.
