  1. Samson or Yale-youll not go wrong with either..
  2. 13mm rope 10mm hitch, 11.7mmish 8mm hitch. But of course this is not a golden rule and many others will have diff opinions
  3. Download the 'hitch climbers guide to the canopy'. 1 5m of hitch cord for 8mm should get you a nice tidy hitch.
  4. It comes With a self rescue kit that you attach above if you needed to descend from the unit. It's designed to run with an ASAP on a separate rope, I think a uni could work in its place if you needed to descend quickly. The self rescue is easy if you know ropes but nori you don't, but then again this kit is designed for professional users. And ivenever used the wraptor so I too cannot compare.
  5. Yes Pete they did and I've got the petrol one. Would be great if you could descend on it, that's all I'd change. Super easy to operate, we ascended with 2 people on the one unit (the reporter) and it was just very very smooth.
  6. How come I couldn't find that!! And there right on the 900m on one tank, we were doing 2 ascents per tank. Expensive but damn good.
  7. as marc said, id just thread some loops through the stamped holes and make your own. keeps the chainsaw ring easier too find that way too..
  8. HOw much do you reckon would be needed ian? i can bring a role down from treetools i suppose. would be an honour to brace with/for you squire!!
  9. does anyone sell the petrol version in the UK? interested to see what the price is...
  10. I'm going to bill you for a Crown inspection on that tree Ian....
  11. they are but when you use it it feels understandabley expensive-if that makes sense. its got the air of indestructability to it which is comforting when over a 400m hole.
  12. yep sure is, waterproof, goes up and down. wonder if you could do a whole tree with it?? bloody expensive but VERY cool. doesnt lift as much as the petrol one or run for as long but thats not really the point:)
  13. it is, they are. and brilliant for hauling too.
