  1. I think it's made by Avery bro
  2. Really expensive, heat proof, waterproof and tear proof buggers! Heat proof is important as the heat gun on the heat shrink turns normal labels yellow, waterproof as water runs inside the rope and tear proof as let's face it our gear gets a hard life! When I remember the name I'll let ya know bro.
  3. Nice idea bro
  4. The pins make a huge difference for in tree movements such as redirects etc. I prefer the bigger pin as its more user friendly. Stu- I never seem to set up a pulley for long branch walks, rather I'll drop down from the branch above so that I'm already half way out along the branch I'm going to limb walk on. This prevents the big walk and also means if you fall of your anchor point is real close so limited swing. Need my gopro!!!

    Ganda Guides

Like anything dak, look after them and I'm sure they'll be winners
  6. Hey bro re the anodizing- I think that's why the pinto rig is purple and also the rigging hub by dmm. And the green on the pulley wheels of the impact block. Stick at it bro, after seeing what you sent me, I'm pretty sure it's a slick idea:)

Haven't heard great things about how well they last in trees bro but be good to see how you get on with them.. Foot locking????? For me it's how we'll the pantin fits these days!
  8. Hey Ian, yep that's heat shrink for the label that will go halfway on the Prussic-putting if net the eye means it can get caught when retrieving a bit. Dak- yeah bro it's a nice loose cover, big thick strands really nice to do. And liking the ice tail on the pinto, that's exactly what I do to. Nice bro.
  9. doesnt the anodizing actually now mean its SWL? i thought purple was 1 ton or something? sure i read it was the new regs but cant quite remember
  10. great minds bro
  11. heres some Samson Vortex i spliced up the other day- this stuff is super easy and a great rope to learn doing 24strand double braid. no idea whats its like to climb on and APinto i made up for a friend
  12. Or just keep a crab in it.... That you can keep it clipped out of the way on ya harness. But I wager that there is no chance a splice will go through the cinch on 10mm but good to see ya test it bro
  13. Nice Ian, can't wait for my new gopro to arrive so i can shoot some wrench action!! Keep it Up bro

    SJ problem

    big heavy operator perhaps
  15. I had to do a cat rescue yesterday up a norfolk island pine, being able to throwline to the top and not isolate branches for an anchor or having to do a changeover, really highlighted the advantages of the wrench
  16. As mike said. There's a tonne of work since the tree regulations got scrapped, really nice trees are being chopped all over. It's nuts. And really crap:(

    GoPro HD2

so ive finally got around to ordering it so should have it real soon along with the iphone controls (apparently). One thing i didn't like about the gopro was that you didn't know if you were filming 'til you checked later, this should hopefully of solved it. My question is which editing software works the best (apart from imovie which i don't like) on mac? its probably been asked a million times before but as tech moves so quick i thought id ask again. So Mr Flatters, i await your answer/help

    Base anchor

    so would i

    Base anchor

then i think the fault lies in not taking the right amount of ropes for the tree in question. BUT in the cast that happened, ill just do that again. But seriously, if your doing big trees than take big ropes

    Base anchor

id tie a vt around the standing line with an ascender below it to stop it sliding.once its loaded id cut underneath the ascender but leave enough to tie in an alpine if possible

    Base anchor

i was more concerned with smashing it bro!!!!

when using the hub you can hold the casualty on the bight inside the hub very easily and connect the vt onto your harness if you need to walk away from the stem. Ive had the I'd at the base but didnt like the fact that lots of branches etc were falling near it during work.
