  1. Yep. Just follow the tachyon instructions and disregard the purple strands bit. I've got a10m base anchor made with the purple strand removed and really noticeable how different and soft it feels compared to having the purple strands left inside. Also milks a lot more with them removed.
  2. Hopefully Marc! Just waiting for the bloody camera and then gettin the time to do it
  3. Hey Carl I use tachyon and it's good but I'm Keen to try a slightly more static line. Possibly km111
  4. Cool bro- I'm away from Tuesday installing lights and art in trees for Splore festival for a week. So Monday drinks it is:) there's so much to see and do, your going to have a brilliant 3 weeks. Instead of spending 3 days in Auckland, I'd recommend catching a ferry to one of the hauraki gulf islands- waiheke for wine and tiritir matangi for an example of nz before man came here- its nzs best bird sanctuary, amazing place.
  5. No a stitched eye is completely Different
  6. I'm in super sunny and awesome Auckland:) there's also big fancy dress comp on the 25th in Auckland being run by MOG. Will be cool to meet up for a drink or so bro. Safe travels.
  7. As soon as my helmet cam arrives, we will hopefully be doing it as well as different camera views-not just helmet cam.
  8. Hey benn, what you can do is throw the tail of you line up above over a limb and then just ascend up this-this will give you a 2:1 that advances your rw for you. When you each the limb, just lanyard to it and pop onto the top of it.
  9. Not to put you off but a friend of mine flew from uk last week and got dvt on the plane- no drinking, smoking, driving, partying or flying for 6 weeks!!! Make sure you move around on that 30hr flight-inbetween the free drinks of course:) If you fancy going for a climb whilst your over drop me a Pm- Auckland climbing comp is march the 3rd too.
  10. Don't let the ease of that fool you bro-the throat of the pi splice will be a lot tougher to get the needle through!! Good instructional video, good luck
  11. For A 5m lanyard I'd just remove the purple strands completely. Leaving them in isn't tht much of a bother and good to practice leaving them in. But as above, not necessary on a 5m bit of rope.
  12. Whereabouts David?
  13. I haven't climbed on the vortex yet, just been splicing it. The 13mm was arbormaster and felt it was a tad thick for me running through the wrench. I'll grab some vortex and see what's its like. Off topic but it's nice to splice.
  14. [quote=nebw. Have had a little play with the tree motion but I'm looking for something abit more robust. TreeMotion is pretty damn robust bro, dont let the looks fool ya

    Red wine

bottle of red every few days for me but a beer or 2 prob every night. and the weekend-i dont wanna work the numbers out........
  16. personally marc i found the 13mm created too much friction running through the wrench
  17. How I did mine was insert the needle and thread so equal amounts of thread are either side of the rope. I then stitched on an angle down the length of rope so that only minimal amount of thread was showing on the outside. I then did the same on the leg of thread, occasionally stitching through the previous side. To finish I just tied knots in the thread and pulled tight into the rope and melted the ends off and then covered in heat shrink. That makes sense to me Marcus anyway I think I did a post called rope guides for the masses a while ago-pice might be on there, not sure.
  18. nor sure i can pop into Tenbury very often Si.....
  19. Black helmet- ultra headaches!!
  20. Just wash it and then check for any sawdust, seeds, mud etc and remove. Light spray with disinfectant at the end. Its just common sense really bro, and declare everything when they ask what you've got- normally they will clean stuff that isn't clean enough as long as your open with them.
  21. Snakeskin has a poly core bro.
  22. i couldnt resist....

nice Reg.thats the biggest arbutus ever seen, and the setting looks nice too.
  24. I've used one and to be honest it was the biggest piece of rubbish I've ever used in tree work. And lots of other climbers had the same opinion here, be good if others have a different opinion.
  25. doesnt the rocker grab under inertia like the petzl asap?
