No that's a different accident. From what I have read the climber took the top out of a tree and was still tied in. I haven't heard of the cherry picker incident. A sad day even more so...
  2. KFC and Burger King are both open on xmas day too bro if your not a macca's fan.

A climber died at work in australia today, queensland. I dont know the exact details so wont try and say what happened. stay safe everyone.
  4. id agree with albere, dont rate the pi for srt
  5. Yale Blue Tongue or Kernmaster are good ropes bro.
  6. you ideally want the tether to be long enough so that if the RW inverts it still wont push down on the top of the hitch. adding a blue bandit or similar onto the tether where it attaches onto the RW helps with limiting the ability of it to invert.
  7. custom painted like the new ISC blocks...
  8. AJ Hackett were considering using it as the new bungy rope... It's rather stretchy bro.
  9. Me too probably
  10. Asplundh? im there once in a blue moon these days but yep, ill def get one if its as comfortable as its made out to be. maybe not the nzpost colurs though.. and im sure you said the same thing about red boots...
  11. it wont be your money though ian and as a responsible team leader id expect you to get mason one, knowing there is better head protection out there for him what with all the side impact protection of the protos. only joking bro:)
  12. these are my boots Treetools | Meindl Air Stream Class 1 Steel Toe Cap Chainsaw Boots they cost more than the helmet. no idea why its better on the ground than your husky but for me climbing i dont think its an excessive price to save my head if the situation arises. The petzl range is damn cheap for head protection that will last 5 years or so, i think thats what makes this seem expensive. I think its pretty cool that Pfanner decided to say bugger the cost, lets reinvent the helmet. But yeah, not sure about the colour ranges.....
  13. its not really an issue but thanks bro
  14. if boots cost 200 quid ( i have no pound sign on my keyboard!) whats the big deal with a helmet that costs 180+? i value my head more than i value my toes....
  15. cheeky little bit of ColdCut-Timber. Nice.
  16. make the tether as stiff as possible bro-tape a stick to it (low tech) or custom make one from carbon fibre ( hi tech)-both will have the same outcome and will improve the RW 100%. it will advance the RW and will mean it is always in the 'set' position without you having to manually push it up to engage it.
  17. 346 XP next time bro!
  18. dunno bro, id say hitchs are at least 95% of the climbing community here in NZ. but i do think mechanicals will be the future
  19. id rather they wait, get it absolutely perfect and then release an absolute humdinger of a top handled. But i need a new saw now and late 2013 is too long away...
  20. climbed a few of those here in NZ,nice soft wood to cut and the spikes mean its super grippy on your shoes i find the spikes actually break off pretty easy when your rope touches them. a side note- get a longer stiffer teither for your RW-this will make it work a lot better and safer
  21. i would and climbers i know that have that harness do. though there is probably some paperwork saying you shouldnt..
  22. but i havent used one so my comments are worthless remember.
  23. you can SRT ascent on a zig zag too. not just a unicender
  24. i would get your spelling all corrected before sending it out bro. good on you though.
  25. Has anyone used the new Panasonic GX1?
