  1. oldmill- do you know why the sidewinder is coming with beeline and not a dynamic cord for the cinch? its probably just semantics and not an issue, i was just wondering..
  2. Google it bro, there a good vid by Gerald Beranek explaining it. ( I you don't know his name, he's a legend still very much part of the industry)
  3. I'd definelty tie a small prussic rather than using a tibloc- those things are pretty Nast on rope. Have a look at the "o-rig" if you want easy ascending...
  4. There now on the dangerous items list and not allowed. At least on air nz and emirates..
  5. And nz in march eh rosscoe
  6. That's still a holiday for you- just minus the travelling bit.
  7. Hopefully have some pics for you real soon:)
  8. Fair does, have a nice holiday!!
  9. 18kN on an Individual pull so that gives you 36kN when used in the way a cambium saver is used. So yeah, sweet as
  10. A week for £2600!! That seems crazy expensive......
  11. What colour did you order old mill?
  12. Too hot in the sun... Would look pretty stealth though.
  13. Look up m-rig or v-rig to do this with only one prussic
  14. If your bothered about the colours, remember you can just remove the yellow stickers to have either a plain red or plain orange helmet
  15. I have done it and though it's not at all legal going by aviation rules it can be done! Run the engine dry over and over again, clean carb, leave in the sun for a cple of days to vaporise and spare fuel, clean the engine so that it's cleaner than bran new, degreaser all over, absorbing crystals in Te fuel tank and then industrial heat shrink the entire unit with more absorbing crystals thrown in. With the effort it takes, it may jut be easier to put on a ship and freight it back.. Also of they find it they may confiscate it- for our Africa trip a 4stroke ascender flew into Cape Town but is being shipped out due to this reason. Ship does take 66 days though
  16. Here ya go paul, ceramic grinder, berletti stove top and good beans.
  17. no idea if this would work but could you tape the maillon up so no metal is showing? may quieten the clang. or girth hitch a small rated webbing sling to it and clip into that? iused to have a rock climbing harness that had some venlcro holding te waist strap for flapping around-the noise of it peeling apart when sitting back always gave me the sh##s too.
  18. Yeah don't get me wrong bro, it's a great piece of gear. But the frictionless pulley can feel hard on the arms if you end up hanging in mid air. And sometimes when balancing on a long branch the pulley can feel unnerving a it feels like there is nothing there- the lil bit of friction a cambium saver affords can help a bit with stability.
  19. National radio too bro...
  20. The extra battery on the gopro2 gives you 4hrs of 1080 footage. And the low profile mount means its ticks up way less. Hd2 are now pretty cheap as the hd3 is out. Unless your going to go crazy on editing, slomo etc the hd2 is great val for $$
  21. Nothing like a bit of abba and billy ray Cyrus to get ian through the day....
  22. Pinto RIG is great for redirects
  23. C'mon guys calm down- were all entitled to our opinion, we don't have to agree.
  24. 100% scots pine. Ring/ring cambium saver first, then go to adding a pulley to it, then move to a rope guide. A rope guide straight off can be a pretty steep learning curve...
  25. I think a big thing is learning to jump in a tree. A, it's fun B, it makes you trust the gear C, it's quick D, you learn to land. So when you have a mishap, you already know how to limit any damage to yourself by landing properly E,it's fun.
