  1. its AlaskA Environmental, they werent going to divulge the cost of the excavator to me though!
  2. not bothered looking at fish finders yet, the boat is a business expense as i do river side work http://www.h2okayaks.com/unitrader/shop/category/Kayak-Fishing-Gear/144 these are the rod holders i have looked at, i like them as i have ram mount kit on my quad so i can swap my GPS holder onto it as well, when not fishing
  3. thats a nice combo, and a very good outboard, bet that will shift along pretty well. hers my latest purchase, 3m long with the honda 2.3hp outboard and on a high speed trailer (the whole lot cost me 300 beer vouchers so not to bad) even came with 3 flares the outboard is aircooled so no need to worry about flushing cooling systems after use and is twist and go no gears, for reverse the whole unit swivels round just waiting to get up to norfolk to use it now! need to dust the sea fishing tackle of as i havent used it about 5years! Lee have you seen the Rod holders you can mount on the seats? i think i may get one so i can just sit back and chill
  4. i didnt see him moving very quickly, the wheels are all driven with hydrulic motors so i guess its not going to be very quick, but i would think faster than a tracklayer.
  5. I know this has nothing to do with trees! but bare with me (sorry for those without broadband!) been to look at some river restoration today and they was a very nice toy that i know you machinery junkies will appreciate this excavator can walk over obstructions such as boulders and step over river banks so not cause any damage, also the tyres as is obvious are low ground pressure its for desilting a river, where a mine burst its silt lagoon into the river before after and one more
  6. that supprises me as the only saw i had that played up and kept stalling was my 084, and after a few tank fulls it seems to have settled down. at least its working in the hedge cutters which you will be nearer a running exhaust for longer. going to get some 4stroke aspen for my boats outboard next refill as well so how that goes.
  7. BFG's although very noisy for long journeys
  8. ended up in a meeting with site engineers yesterday (yawn) so didnt get chance to go, but at least theres APF to look forward to
  9. there are wild beavers in the UK (escapees) they just arent well known about. The problem is people think of american beavers and then trees in rivers and dams etc, and this causes loads of politics, and issues about flooding and fish passage etc etc. european beavers dont really make big dams (if they make dams at all) and im all for it in the right locations, there is currently a project aiming to establish a truely wild population not on a nature reserve, no fences, no boundaries. A suitable catchment cant be located for the trial reintroduction although i think the project will be up and running within 12months with truely wild populations being established. Charlie
  10. hi me again, just realised i have a book on smoking meats, and it has about 2pages covering the abu smoker, the book is called "home smoking and curing" by kieth erlandson, it also shows you how to make smokers such as used refrigerators, dustbins brick etc and gives lots of tips/ recipies for smoking. its a very good book if anyones looking at getting into smoking meats charlie
  11. it depends if its a hot or cold smoker! most run on fine sawdust (eg bandsaw) and burn slowly
  12. you should now send him a bill, riverside land-owners its never their problem, they are all the same!
  13. where abouts is the tree? if you dont want it, we will willingly sling it back into the river up here ps that river looks quite swollen so i have no doubt you took the right course of action,
  14. first day of the course done, all good, just me and two instructors so im getting the full treatment, been out on the boat for 5hrs and feel absolutly shattered my arms really ache badly just above my elbows using a 20ft rib with 80hp outboard which is pretty quick
  15. my number one pet hate, woody debris removal from a water course i guess there was a very good reason for removing it, shame it couldn't have been staked into the bank, im sure it had to come out really Matt, funny really when we are dropping trees into the river in the top part of the trent catchment oh well at least if they get free it will keep you boys busy
  16. :tee: tea by the pint, thats the way forward, guess it doesnt matter how big the biscuit is then its always going to fit in the mug for a dunking!
  17. [ame=http://youtube.com/watch?v=xnC96tqyk5M]http://youtube.com/watch?v=xnC96tqyk5M[/ame]
  18. although custard creams are a league ahead surely?
  19. nope mine is a s300 single shot but very accurate, dam slow and fiddely to load, Big gun thats a lot of toys
  20. thats a very nice air rifle, i have two theobens one precharge and a break barrel, i also have a precharged airarms that is so quite its unreal, i do like the stock on that daystate, bet your well chuffed
  21. Nice one
  22. sorry but they are good dunked in tea!
  23. good system, spend the extra from the Hard-drive on getting a mobile one, so you can back files up on it. If you do business paperwork on the PC that way if one dies you have the other, i have learnt this from bitter experiance many times building your own is only a real option if your going for very high spec top end parts
  24. the chain you seek is called 33RM as apposed to 33PM which is the anti kickback, dont get 33RS as this is deisgned for more powerful saws and will not cut as nicely on your 200t Charlie
  25. Andy are you insured with NFU? if not pass the serial number on to them, that way if anyone trys to insure it with them it will flag up with them its stolen, likewise with Honda UK as i on several occasions have had to give the serial number when ordering parts.
