  1. a few of mine Elwell 5lb Elwell 2 1/2lbs Elwell 2lb all on original shafts
  2. thats cool, how does it compare to the petzl handled version, also are you using it with a foot ascender, it would be good to see a photo of the set up your using
  3. what security mechanism does it have to stop the cam coming open?
  4. certainly looks like a felling head on the wrong shaft, the second pictures are of a side axe used in green wood working for chair making etc, have a look on them both and see if they have any makers stamps on them as if they are made by Elwell, they are quite collectable, the side axe is a very good find
  5. yep i had looked at a few on there about the 30quid mark, just wanted to make sure they werent rubbish, but the do an awesome job of cleaning carbs out
  6. in the past have had my carbs put through a u/sonic parts washer, and im looking at getting one myself as i have loads of small parts i could do with cleaning up, anyway i just wondered if anyone else was using one or had a recommendation as to a good one to get cheers Charlie
  7. my 254 used to do a similar thing when the tank vent was blocked
  8. Ha, I was just starting play group in 84! now whos old
  9. I have a wire strop, with a snap hook on it, it came with the paperwork with it as required by loler, now surely the manufacturer wouldnt send this out if it was likely to fail the tests, what type of snap hooks are we talking about though, mine is like this one, and i cant see how it fails the requirements? 10. looks good Justin, just one downsite from the planning point of view! the bar is two stands away from the arbtalk stand, so people going from arbtalk tent to the bar have to walk past your stand and fletcher stewarts, which means by the time they get to the bar they will be skint! If i have finished my farm duties for the summer i will try and get down from sunny (not!) Staffordshire oh and nice advert in essential arb this month about the event!
  11. you would clear up the uk helo lifting sector if you got one of them!
  12. yep its called after the storm, its not hugely interesting unless your a complete machinery junky in which case its great , a bit slow in places and shows some of the swedish guys using kit from the 60's its not hugely informative either just a brief bit of info on the machine then about 5mins of them working, from memory there is one processor that has a huge cirular saw right next to the cab that looks like HSE staff migh die of heart failure if they saw it
  13. Very nice pictures, cool to see something different as well, was the bog surface relatively solid for walking over, I used to work on blanket bog restoration in England and Scotland and some sites were absolute pigs to just walk over so i dont envy you having to work on a site like that (ok thats a lie i do envy you slightly, especially with all the cool equipment) Ed do you think the Skyline was more productive than a Helicopter, given the reasons of costings or was it over all just more practical for site, also did the skyline lift the timber clear of the ground as its a pretty flat site and what distances were you pulling it in over?
  14. is it glastonbury? yep recon it is, MB its a big music festival heres a bbc picture of it oh and they dont have toilets, you have to pee into your empty drinks bottles!
  15. i have a silky sugoi 360 which is great for cutting through big stuff fast (think its faster than father in laws ms170), not delicate though, i also have a silky f-180 that fits nicely into the little thigh pocket on my hi-flex's lives in there all the time and its a great little saw, has taken some real abuse (and had revenge on a few occasions!) still very sharp and its about 3 years old, amazing the amount of use it gets as its always there just when you need it
  16. its not hugely different to the bar that comes on the MS192t/170 is it? other than the re-inforced rails round the tip of the bar, you could fit a 192t bar straight onto a 200t, other than needing the narrower gauge chain, you wouldnt need a sprocket change
  17. Bodger's Ask & Answer • Index page bodgers forum! plenty of info also a second vote for the encylopedia of green wood working a great book!
  18. here is a video about the site, (this was made in october last year after the first week of work) i wish i had some before photos from march Tattenhall Marina - Chester Chronicle and the outrage lengths that protected species cost (even if their not there ) And Finally... Tattenhall Marina paid £56,000 to protect non-existent newts - Chester Chronicle - And Finally
  19. probably was that job, most that site has been reseeded with my ATV and rolled with it as well i did sun burn my ankles though as i was in shorts and trainers! did have to wear my helmet though which wasnt nice in the heat
  20. A site i have been doing some work on for a mate near Chester, i have been doing the reseeding and he has done the landscaping, not looking to bad considering the first week of March this was a big muddy whole full of 360's and dumpers
  21. er its on dry land, dont fancy your chances of a speedy get away, that is a cool carving though
  22. i have posted these before, i dont wear glasses so cant comment on the fit, but manufacutures state should fit most presscription glasses Uvex > Products > Safety Eyewear > Safety Goggles > ultrasonic these are also the same ones stihl badge as their own they start at about £4.50 a pair on ebay and are very comfortable i wear them under my visor quite a bit especially when strimming or milling
  23. i suspect we will get a date real soon....... mainly as someone has started a thread on AS about it i love my 372xpw i run 24" mostly it works fine with this bar, im sure you will be happy with it, i ran mine in hard, ringing up a 40" dia windthrown ash and it seems to have done it no harm, i will be keen to try the 372stratocharged version when it comes out, should be a good saw
  24. if its fresh Tea milk and two from a flask black coffee that you can stand the spoon up in, 0.5l flask 6 spoons of coffee and 8 of sugar, awesome, but only drink a bit at a time
