  2. hmmm my htc on orange is now not letting me view the site at all, as its being blocked by orange until they can verify im over 18! wasters
  3. is your AA membership paid upto date you will need it
  4. so other htc hd2 users is it just me that cant post on here?
  5. i run 24 and 16" bars on mine, no problem with either, ditto the point about the two nuts that hold the chain brake on, carry some spares! very responsive once set up, after you have a few tanks of fuel through it, get your dealer to check the carb settings as they can need tweeking to get maximum performance out of them all in all a great saw
  6. I always had a slide out keyboard, but this time i have gone for the htc hd2, and tbh its not as bad as i thought it would be, plus as a result i can put in an otterbox defender case for another 30quid and its a very very robust decent handset, I went for the hd2 as it runs windows mobile pro, and its great to use EDIT: except i cant post or send pms on here
  7. ah so thats why it disappered of ebay
  8. They are a great bunch, always a laugh when they are on site, they werent my jobs they were on of my colleagues in Staffordshire wildlife trusts projects. They seem a very knowledgeable bunch, nothing seems to phase them,
  9. Henry as in Mr Gould? might be:biggrin:
  10. Very nice Is much of your work with the WTT using terms like tree kickers?
  11. pretty close there, will post some pics over the next few weeks when work starts, using large lumps of timber to basically do what you describe, along with some brash bundles and block stone, to protect the toe of the bank
  12. mine has had some stick doing felling and hedge laying it was the first saw i bought and its still running well, i keep a 13" bar on mine as i think thats the best balance and it doesnt put any stress on the saw
  13. good work i really rate my little 340 they are a fantastic little light saw
  14. could be worn clutch springs? not pulling back in properly so engaged the whole time
  15. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/forestry-woodland-management/21512-fc-future-local-management.html
  16. I always take media reports with a pinch of salt but this story has been bounding about a lot recently, Ministers plan huge sell off of Britain's forests - Telegraph I was wondering if this anouncement was coming as their woods closest to my house, are currently having timber pulled out like crazy, i came past a felling operation the other day, trashed timber everywhere, snapped out tops, a real mess, hard woods and soft woods coming out in 6ft lenghts (hand felling) I just wonder if they are trying to get as much out and arent to worried about the mess if the site is going to be sold on? Also what will this mean for woodland prices? could devalue assets, will they be split into sensible sized parcels? or sold in 10,000's ha blocks Also I know the commission have always had a good handle on controling timber prices (and possibly keeping them low at times ) but if 300,000ha end up in private hands and the new owners decide to recoup some of their purchase costs by harvesting and marketing the timber, then i do wonder if this could actually be worse initally for timber prices? Although on the plus side, those of us doing woodland management and contractors may be able to pick up more work possibly I dont know, these are just my rambling thoughts after being up half the night with a grumpy newborn
  17. i have a fiskars but suppliers seem to be hard to find now, love mine well worth the money,
  18. depends what saw its for, 372 husky's and 440stihls and above can be sourced by your local dealer if you get them the part number, I have them on my 372xp and i love them, they are called a full wrap, but stihl also do a 3/4 wrap which looks handy
  19. probably not very if she catches you on suppose its safer than cracking out your personal stash and risking getting it confiscated:001_tt2:
  20. that looks like woodworm surely? where you are lifting the logs from are there little piles of dust under each hole, or put a few of the logs over a peice of paper for a few days and see if any fine dust accumulates under it, the piles of dust will be about 1 or 2 mmm high so very small
  21. also with atv's i think the speed your restricted to is limited by your lighting set up, ie with only the factory set up you will be limited to something like 25kph
  22. ring around and get insurance first before you get carried away as even if they are registered agri NFU insist they go on a normally policy up here now, so mine cost a lot of $$$$ to insure
  23. +1 for xpg my 346 has heated handles and in future i will try and get all my saws with it on,

    AA Vs ICF

ICF are a good route to getting CEnv status if your looking at getting that qualified, as from what i have read its the easiest route to getting that status that through other professional bodies. Not sure they are that similar to AA though, so im intregued as to how you have limited it to those two, if your doing forestry the ICF if your doing arb or arb and forestry then i would have though AA / ISA would have been the better choice
