    if anchor point failure is the problem throwing another rope at it wont help. most trees only have(when removing) one TIP and the second one, below your feet?,miles over the other side? and when your blocking down a stem?

    the digging downs not really a problem, but moving all that soil out will be time consuming unless you have a vacuum extractor, you can get small ones that run off the compressor but i guess your looking at removing 3-4m3

    need an update on how difficult railtrack are to work with. just been to a regular customers fathers, to look at a Job, surprisingly the council has given permission for a hefty 20% reduction, not really a problem, however the trees are on top of a tall retaining wall next to the tracks, some of the branches extend right across one set of lines. the trains run at every 20-30 minutes. what are going to be some of the requirements from RT?

    5m is usually enough, on jobs that require more its more economical to get a 'plus 5m' insurance policy on top of the 5m rather than 10m

    I have had a application knocked back because using google maps/satellite pic does not show an accurate position of the tree in relation to the dwelling and boundary, which has me at a bit of a loos as there's only one tree, which has a big red arrow pointing to it. i have used google before, has anything changed?

    i spiked the side of the fuel tank on my 200t, not a big hole more a crack , but enough for it to weep. Any suggestions which glue/product i should use to fix?

    if you take its as written, then Every time you go to a new site and tie your climbing kit it needs a thorough examination by a competent person not using it!

    i find taking the rope the opposite way round the tree more stable on small stems. so if (on side D's) you have your friction hitch on the left, pass the rope round the right hand side of the stem, round the back, and then from the left hand side to the right side D. this will give you a cross in front of you getting you closer to the stem and making it more stable without too much loss of mobility, or you could go the whole hog like in the picture
