  1. its the last 5 pic that brought it home as i've been for a drink in the white water hotel. the 'fishermans bar' is at the bottom of the spiral stair case!!! (under the conifers behind the water fall, last but one pic) just difficult to comprehend:thumbdown:
  2. got this sent through, it shows some of the lakes and areas that got hit with the floods, if any of you have been to the lakes i'm sure you'll know the places. Lake District flood - Friday 20th November 2009 - StridingEdge it might take a few minutes to load as theres lots of pic's in high res
  3. had the one from sherrill a few years back, a good toy, great for the show room, but not in the real world, not enough power to realy pull the line in with a bag on across a lawn. i think that once the batteries ran out i never bothered replacing them:thumbdown:
  4. sure, but excitment is the spice of life, and the more you have the more you need:lol:
  5. all you've got to do is add beer and anything seams like a good idea at the time:001_tt2: and been tied in you could'nt fall off:thumbup:again:blushing:
  6. result of a similar spinning 'game' but with rope and harness, which was going to safer than the previous, 'ride the post hole borer', on another occasion which olny resulted in a depressed retina:lol:
  7. the wire is required, as thats how its made. there for to pass a loler test it must have a wire. easy to replace and if you want you can get them from isc

  10. i'm with steve, had a liros pro line for years, i have tried most of the others on the market and find that it has been best for durabitity too:thumbup1:

  13. on a good day i'm a 6'5'' 17.5 stone climber, just dont give me any small ornamentals to prune and i dont footlock too far either now
  14. yep to the 5 year thing and all other units should be updated too
  15. sorry but you can, though there is a clause that the inspection should be done without 'fear or favour' and this could be taken that if you are buying your gear that you may 'favour' of not failing it, though if your an inspector why would you climb on dodgy gear. and all that pete said too.
  16. its the petzl pantin you have, so you must keep the rope vertical, which is ok for true srt but is why the cmi foot asscender is better for tree work IMHO as the rope locks in
  17. large bucket with old oil in, throw in a burning rag, put chiminey on top with vents in and called it a 'salamander'
  18. i've had a pair of cmi's for a while, very robust and better for me as the rope locks in. worked out cheaper than the petzl too, who didnt make rightes then
  19. moderated 410 + £3/squrriel= great day out that pays
  20. you also get top money from the game dealers after all these cookery programs;-)
  21. the 'tiblock' not sure of the name, was a very small cam device with a thin wire gate(with did'nt work as 3 strand was too big) to keep the rope in most of the time, mine got lifted from by bag many years ago. the othe was the (jack) kenyon prussic lifter which was a L shaped bar with spurs that twisted onto the tail and lifted the prussic. you made your own spliced 3 strand prussic loops, or 'euro prussic loop' which were easer to make as they were just two eye splices, one small to the harness and one large to make the prusssic, but didnt last as long. just about all of the other things mentioned, specially the grey GT under the arm pits!! how about been taught to stack a load of brash properly with just a billhook, but leaving a space on the back as you dont get a seat in the cab:001_rolleyes:
  22. full speaking part!!!! BBC NEWS | UK | Tree climbing for grown-ups
  23. you can put a bridge on but, it was not designed to be used like that! its a unique french style that they put either end of the rope onto different sides, this allowows you to turn and go out forwards on branches. the desigen has been around for 10 years or more and still in productuion as far as i know. craig
  24. been reading that new book then dean?
