  1. not Aire Valley (based near LBA airport now, after i sold it) there is Acacia tree services nr wakefield/south leeds. On a similar note a guy in Italy was killed on a golf course, owned by Fiat, when a tree fell on him while he was about to tee off, the first time ever the course had been open on a easter monday and the first time the guy had played a round of golf:tdown:
  2. if the engine is tired, think realy hard as there not the easyest engine to work on and parts can be a problem. Have mine as agr reg, had a guy come round to inspect it, form vosa, as i wanted it as 'special vehicle' (lifted the body off) said it was a crane fead pto timber processor! he siad thats not special its agr,ok i said!!!!!!!!!!
  3. The fact remains that I believe the USA drives arboriculture..I'm not saying I like it but that seems to be the way of thngs. It was born there and developed in a large part. dont want to jack this, but, arboriculture started in europe/england 300 years before it became popular term in the states in the 1930's. europe leads the way in R&D and always has, but the states is a bigger market place and arbocop is spot on ANSI is only a 'standard' to which things are made and has no independant testing some 'ANSI' harness would not pass the CE test
  4. Yep, driven through the gear box, transfer box out put. goes in the same place as an overdrive would.
  5. if any of you are in leeds any time call at the shop and you can play in the inside tree (20' tall)with any of the dozen harness that i have. the best way to decide, i think.
  6. same, the nearest happening to me in the last five years and i'm away at the Belgium comp
  7. No... the PTO's for mec winches come off (landy/Bedford) the transfer box and means that they run through the gear box, at low speed, so do not take the stick when driving a chipper and easly strip the gears clean:icon4: i've got a direct engine PTO box that fits between the clutch and gear box running drive through a blower box to the chipper
  8. just had to put in a seal kit in the rear brakes, as the pads were a little damp! not easy to find. i'll PM you next time and call it a tax refund:deal:
  9. thanks. it a bit slow when full of chip though (9cube!!)
  10. for the work that we do a mog would be a waste of money, this is my old (1978!)Bedford, 10' TP chipper and 7ton/meter hiab with side tip. not used every day, and the hiab more than the chipper. i dont get much off road work in the city, but it will get us across the grassed areas we work in. Parts are getting a bit short, now most of them have gone to africa, but as its only got 36,000 miles from new it will last a few more years:driver:.
  11. we have a few in stock still £225 +VAT call the shop 01132296006
  12. easy answer, no. Air-spades require large volumes of air at medium pressure, wagons/moggs have high pressure at low volume.
  13. it started 25m away from the bridge on the other side of the stream. the day we were cutting the top off was -1 at lunch time and it was deeper than chainsaw wellies. its a 75 ton crane and the biggest lump was 4.7 tons though most picks were around the 2 ton mark as most of it was rotten
  14. big pops in leeds as well
  15. Hi All i'm looking to put some more arb teams on the road. if your intrested in working for a forward thinking company, with a wide varity of work across yorkshire. i'm looking for climbers and 2nd climbers/groundies who want to do high quality treework send me a PM or call sybs in the office on 01132296006 look forward to some intresting response craig trees unlimited
  16. if they have any left, it will be all they can get as they have stopped making amicide.
  17. i agree, its more important to many customers. when you leave site, if its not tidy, its not finnished.
  18. Hi wolf nice to see you here. do you know the link to the german tcc site?
  19. running a TCC is a lot of work, 100% more work before, than just on the day which is all people see, i guess that there's no one around with that sort of time and more importantly intrest, sad really as they were always good fun:cheers:
  20. got there before me life's not always the party we planed but where here so we might as well dance
  21. yes the Isc pulley is tested, marked and rated for that, the petzel is not, if they were confident about using it like that they would say so. the petzl tree bee has a large ring that will fit some pulley's through to make a rope guide or just get the ART pulliey and a dynema sling as it will fit through most normal rings. climbing rope is not good for a saw lanyard, yes its strong infact the same as the rope your climbing on, so when your saw gets snaged on a branch you've just cut off, which peice is going to give? just my thoughts.
  22. i inspect my own kit and my lads, there's no problem in doing this as long as you can show its been done ''without fear of favor'' is the main thing. inspecting brand new gear that is loged is bollocks and a rip off.
  23. as i understand, if you use a machine, and that can include saws and chippers, your ok, but they are after the labour only side, so if you do a lot of forestry planting, then you will need one
  24. on a similar line, the local council have put new street lights out side a customers house...guess where.... in the canopy of a nice sycamore that will have to be sided up for the light to work. the tree is in a conservation area, could they object to the works been done, the old lights were no where near the tree?
  25. had mine 4 years, still on the origanl bridge, but changing out is no hassel. sells very well.
