  1. I wished had lead such an exciting life to post stories here, but, I know I haven't, so will just stick to my comfort zone and say little!
  2. Sorry, I did read that after I posted and thought 'twat, asking a question and also to stop the derail! Where are you to on your travels Paul?
  3. Has booze harmed my finances? Define please. When I drink at home, do I have mood swings and does my partner/kids have to adapt to them? Define drunk please? Do I deny that I may occasionally have a propensity to drink? Nope, I'd rather drink wine than tea of an evening but not always.... I will not deny that to some, drink is evil. I will not deny that to some is harmful to their health and ultimately those around them. I will not deny that alcoholic addiction change financially ruinous. But then, life has a habit of doing the above without alcohol being involved too. I tend to look at things in spectrums although I also hate labels as a reason or excuse too. At one end of the range is the sort of person who is lucky enough to get through life in total, world, happiness. The other has the complete scumbags who are, or should be, locked away to protect society. There are those who are unable to do things because of physical or mental issues and those who reach extreme old age in a very good physical condition. There are people who unfortunately have a short life through accident and scum who live a long life when others would,d rather they didnt. I agree that alcohol can be harmful but to some folk, apart from money and extra weight, it isn't.....Let's agree to go follow our paths without rancour and not derail Paul's thread further. Best wishes to you Paul.
  4. Hmmm. ...... Nope. Apart from my offspring who will have to manage on what ever is left in the will after I passed it up the wall enjoying myself! No blood spilled, no lost relationship due to drink, work has been done correctly, kids doing well enough etc etc.... Oh, BTW. I had a crap bottle of Shiraz last night and nowt since last Saturday.
  5. I think that some people are susceptible to mental health issues, it is bred into them....and alcohol is something that can be a trigger to 'awkward ' behavior. Like you, I have had periods in my life where I have drunk a fair bit, both at home and in the pub, but it has not harmed me in any way except made me poorer! I know someone who talks such bullshine sober, it amazes me and when they have a drink they are away with the fairies and the odd person who seems to get aggressive after a few too! I think that a lot of people nowadays do like to have a 'label', or belong to a group, maybe even to have a excuse for their behaviour so align themselves within a spectrum. In the past, they may have been pushed into an industry where they had been able to 'hide or be hidden' from life by the work or their co-workers and got on with life.....but now, we have a whole section of the health industry making big dollar to pidgeon hole people, find a reason, blame or excuse folk for their oddities and that is where the thing sits!

There is a technical help section under the 'Forum' last which has a link to TW. Try posting in there and give them a chance to respond going forwards.
  7. Have asked and the garage will consult Ford again. 60ltrs in 10k miles seems excessive to me now. So does 15mpg on a tank...
  8. Possibly a trick question but also thought provoking. In you opinion, what is possibly the best thing invented that has changed so much? In my opinion, in comes in many different sizes, different patterns, ambidextrous and strengths. Useful in Peace, Love and War,
  9. It is, but not yet. We had such a run of success with the old Tier 3a engine in 200 and 165, we sold out some 6 months ahead.
  10. The 200 is different to everything else. It is designed and built in Europe to be accepted by Euro tree people.
  11. We are using the same engine in our 200 and the newer 205 units. I used to be agin petrol but petrol and the newer Tier 5 diesels are better for the environment and that is the consideration going forwards. Costcand performance are to be considered as a secondary issue that we have to expect.
  12. I had heard that they have used up the stock of diesel engines and are currently not offering a tier 5 diesel. Petrol is their only offering!

Is it the 25hp type? Have you checked the basic things like blades, shear bars and gap? Whats the quality of chip like?

I do a load of training events and ask attendees to print and sign. The first I did for GreenMech some 23 years back was for a load of blokes in London. I took the paperwork back and asked the girl in the office to process the certificates. A couple of days later, she asked in a starchy voice, who Jack Meoph was. Meoph is pronounced Me Off.......
  16. Sometimes, it is best to take it back to your nearest dealer and pay them to do stuff. That frees you up to earn while you spend! Once you start to strip down the assembly, things should become clear how it goes together. Is there no exploded tiaras in the owners or parts manual?
  17. Blimey Tim, you were busy with that! Being on the Isle might be a benefit or a hindrance too! Ring Ted and see if he knows anyone? He might be at home with it being windy - or he may have packed for a few days and gone on Monday!
  18. Folk with that size kit will travel and charge! Trouble is, at the moment, everyone will be busy with HS2 and other projects ahead of the birds nesting season! What kind of job and site us it? Get as many details together and someone may be able to respond. Does it need chipping or will a mulcher do? Is the chip to stay or go? Whats the access/terrain like? Blah blah blah!
  19. I reckon Lee at Greentec Ufkes UK up in North Yorkshire would hire out the 942 he brought off of Beaver Plant, try him.....how long is the job? There are plenty of folk that would come and do the job for you but hire units will be thin on the ground....
  20. You tried your local GreenMech dealer?
  21. Good work and you run a good woodchipper too!
  22. The damage may already be done to the bearings but you want to avoid the possibility of the shear bar getting clouted by a passing blade. I believe that hydraulic tank forms part of the rotor housing/fabrication and damage to that on top of the blades/shear bars could be catastrophic! Best get it booked in for the bearing swap. Prolonged further use could also damage the shaft and add ore expense!
  23. Eating through AdBlue now and seems to be leaking oil from from shaft at front drive assembly from gearbox. Tell tale was little spots of stuff on the trailer - thought (hoped) it was a leak from Adblue as we are getting through that, but no, starts at the front! Adblue......put 20ltrs in just before Xmas at about 103k, put 20 ltrs in at about 106k and just put another load in at 107K! Ringing the garage tomorrow.....
  24. Sometimes, bolt torque and tappet settings can be common to other similar engines etc, try some lateral thinking and find the bolt sizes then look at other engines etc? Good luck with the hunt for the correct settings though!
  25. I got fed up trying to sell my hot rod last year. Up for £6k and a dozen people contact me with their best offer, cash waiting, collect tomorrow - £2,500! I get some duff sales leads at GreenMech too, they want a demo, want finance with minimal deposit but have only been trading 6 months, and have a CCJ for not paying for a mobile phone! I know we all start somewhere but be real.....
