  1. I noticed at LAMMA that Ryetec had the Peruzzo. I wonder what the chap is doing now and good luck to him too! I understand the hurt and pain you went through Stuart, when Barrowcliff's had cash flow issues and my now ex-wife stopped me from buying it, I could have committed a serious crime! When Barrowcliff's lost their main contracts to the Blue Machine, some more crimes were in order too! However, eventually I got through it, and they have had bother! Karma is a bitch.....after Barrowcliff's, I got told that my crystal ball proved right and the E.M.E.B or W.P.D got robbed, work was crap, relationships with landowners suffered etc! Ex? got what she deserved too! (Although, my kids suffer too) But I felt filthy sorting it out!
  2. It got its name or model designation today, a step closer to the release. Doing spec sheets, prices and dealer bulletin. Buy one or at least order one before the summer for a place in the queue. Never to be repeated again!
  3. Hmmm. A mate has had his 10 month old American chipper returned to the seller as the chassis was cracked. He got told that all of that model were being done as they were all cracking. 'Merican muscle!!!
  4. Do you think an American trailer fitted with Euro axles/lights etc will have to be sva'd or no? It will still have to be fully compliant in feed height, controls, reach distances and decals though.
  5. I have heard of one supplier (not chippers though), that just wouldn't help anyone looking for spare parts for any imported machines. I would think that you would have to ensure that it complies with all EU directives, possibly CE plate it and I'd also check spare parts supply as well as checking that your insurance people are happy with it too. I got the impression that when Orange brought in an American chipper, John Mason had a full time job getting it through CE compliance! Remember, until it is CE compliant and registered, it isn't allowed on the road, even on the way to the test centre for the SVA!
  6. To be honest, if I had a decent pair of knockers, I'd spend all me time tweeking them! They are truly wonderful things!
  7. Keep your eyes on the AdBlue! Only use AdBlue and nothing but AdBlue! Check the label before you tip it in too! If it is the wrong stuff, a "G" bill will ensue!
  8. Might take more than two ropes to hold this down!
  9. Waiting to find out how yours go before I start!
  10. Expect an announcement very soon from GreenMech. We will do something as a "last Hurrah" before the emission regulations come into play with a machine fitted with engines that have never been done in it's class!
  11. I don't know to be fair. The 4LE engine still may be produced for export, same as the STC1928 engine. We have stock of some engine types to last until the summer, in fact, expect an announcement in a day or too about a blinding "last Hurrah" move to say goodbye to the current emission engines!
  12. Penultimate CM220. We only got one engine left!
  13. One for Russia, one for Mauritius and one for UK
  14. Blimey! Just noticed the blade and the angle!!! Is it as bad as it looks?
  15. Dave let them go some while back. Nothing at GM to be had. Think a big box of finger bars etc from previous models got skipped a couple of years back too!
  16. Ben Burgess in Norwich are the current Predator people. The hole centres on the Laski jobs are different from Rayco, Vermeer etc, but it is just geometry and drill!
  17. They weren't fast at all, which, in a twin steer us a good thing. They were really geared down to give loads of torque. Jonathan Turner, the MD at GreenMech, tells me that they used to drive it up the stairs at Smithfield to demonstrate it!
  18. They are aimed at different scenarios, so, as Mark says, not that comparable. Go for something with infeed rollers is probably the answer. If you don't use them that often, why not spot hire when you need something?
  19. I've been a big fan of the disc blades since I ran a tree outfit in the 80's and 90's. I had two of my three chippers had disc blades and that proved to me that they worked! When the square/double sided blades came along, I still promoted the disc blades and if I was involved with a sale, the demo machine had discs! Cheaper, easier to care for, more forgiving, quieter and as Jase says, not so brutal. I once refused to sell a machine to a respected customer because he wanted flat edged blades! He got converted! I cannot remember the protocol for swapping blades about but I do remember something to do with longer bolts a spacer weights.....
  20. Sorry, I’ll send Jase a message! Jade went earlier this year!
  21. I’m all for ditching flat edged blades and going to discs! I’ll send Jade a message too! Seasons Greetings to all!
  22. Got a call yesterday from the garage, went for a test drive and AdBlue issues seem to be sorted but another fault code comes up. Apparently, the exhaust Temperature sensor is broken!!! All done now and I can collect it tomorrow. Bill is close to a grand.....Ford relationship centre getting contacted very soon!
  23. I had five, nearly six good years and they lost the agency. Company policy changed and I tried a Hyundai - capable car but expensive as a company hack. Wrecked that stupidly and got a Ford. Unfortunately, the experience has been tainted and I would like try a V6 VW but they cost an awful lot!
  24. I had a Rodeo some ten years ago and they were epically good, or at least the dealer was bloody good. That did 264k with nothing but routine stuff! At 120k, I took it in for service and commented that it was leaking oil and could they advise on this. They changed some seals in the gearbox under the 3 year warranty!
