  1. Sounds like a momentary connection with the reverse buttons. Check both to see if one of the mechanisms is loose?
  2. At times, some of my efforts could get a billing on Rate My Plate! Some of the comments on that page have me crying!
  3. I'm going with the missus, while local architecture can be viewed, it has to be done as part of the general view and not specifically!
  4. Okay. Sold buy Hubert Nightingale (I took his job when he left), to Devon Garden Machinery 10.4.96 and sold on to Taunton Deane Borough Council in Taunton. It went to a sales circa 1999 and they had some more GreenMechs that I sold to them. We have no records for her after this - if you send me your details, I'll amend the records to show it is in your hands. [email protected] She is of that age where we may struggle with a number of the components as life goes on but good to see her working! Welcome to the club.
  5. The Missus wants to visit Riga towards the end of February. Anyone got any recommendations for things to see/do/visit?
  6. Work bench belongs in top kitchen! Was planning easy to come by for workshop and lean to structure?
  7. You are correct that rollers can be 9ver greased leading to stiffness or squeaking. If it happens again, let the pressure out by undoing the nipple. Jase and I did discuss the merits of putting a nipple in that has had the spring and ball removed!
  8. You loose 25% of power going hydraulic! We have done a load of 6" machines for Avant and a couple for RoboFlail type devices but they need oil quantity, cooling and flow. As said, get a standard Wee Chipper (preferably GreenMech) and tow it about with loader. When you done with it, it has a wider market etc.
  9. Big outfit with many fingers in many pies! Also own BTS Group of Needham Market and Telford.....
  10. Was going to add, Google clutch and brake reliners near me? I used to take shoes and clutches to one in Leicester.
  11. Pete Haine at Ely is selling his Predator 360 on treebay.
  12. My missus is in to the industrial/retro look and got some chairs from some government institution that benefitted from felt pads stuck to the steel legs. Depends whether you are in to really.
  13. If the makers plate is still there, send me a picture and I'll dredge up the known history.
  14. My old IH Tractor could be done but the Landrover was solid etc.....
  15. She is a good old one from the mid 90's, flat bottomed infeed and hinged infeed but bolted up solid! I reckon she would do a few years yet! I cannot remember if the ring comes off the flywheel so a quick bench test of the starter and a visual check of the ring would be in order!
  16. Too true Helen, ask the supplier and Grillo UK to confirm that nothing is missing and how the blade is located then have the factory confirm this. I would think it is good practice to have an unbalance in the cutting system which will greatly accelerate bearing and shaft wear and if it fails, potentially dangerous too! I cannot believe it is true....
  17. There doesn't appear to be any register or locator nor any kind of extra dowls or bolt holes to stop the blade movement! Anything left on the floor or field? Distance is not really an issue with parts being sent out to rectify the problem if your rights have been infringed and you should "facetime" or video call the shop or Grillo so they can see in an instance and be able to compare directly with a stock machine.
  18. That is still sat in the yard along with a couple of other projects for company! A basket case Elswick and Turner Ranger also joined the Nickerson Turfmasters and a couple similar aged trade ins. We also got a growing pile of prototypes and testbed donkey's and the cab/engine pod of a Multitask and I think there is still a chunk of big shredder too!
  19. To be fair, the 202 is getting very long in the tooth so it may be a breaker....couldn't comment 9n the Kubota mower, what engine do you need? Spotted a 1505 in a dead chipper at our spot?...
  20. Asked Google to play Physical Graffiti, not listened to it in years!
  21. I was wondering if there is a 'register' which is 20mm for the blade to sit on before the bolt is tightened. It makes no sense otherwise. BTW, the shop soldit to you so technically, they have to deal with it. But just cannot see how/why it would be assembled with that blade on a smaller bolt only.
  22. Did you buying with any warranty? Talk to the local Grillo dealer - phone the salesman, he got your sale and is keen for the next too!
  23. That very interesting question also throws into the pot of the pre 97 folk who tow, have towed, without training or issue going forwards? I've towed since 82, without an issue, as the then licence allowed so why should I now be penalised by insurance companies who were happy to previously take my coin?

    Laptop .

I'd give my MIL an Aston! But only knowing that she would give it me back and use her Yaris! I got a Lenovo thing that doubles as a big tablet. Open, fold it open and further and the screen is touch!
  25. Some of the hoops or regulations that machine manufacturers have to work too is often beyond the comprehension of sensible people at times..... All new chippers have a slightly longer infeed chute, all have to have a bottom infeed control bar and all have to have an infeed stopping button (or two) on the top of the infeed chute. This was insisted upon by a foreign HSE department as anyone stood in the infeed chute, kicking in brash or chogs, was in danger of being hurt and, once passed the Red bar, had no control over the infeed rollers! The infeed chute has to be of a certain length, top, bottom and sides, preventing anyone reaching in to grab the rollers. A discharge chute has to be a certain length or shape so that no one is able to put their arm down the thing too close to the rotor. If the chute is designed to be removable, it cannot be too easily removed or tools or thought process needed to complete the act. It may need an interlocking interface to secure the hole or make the thing safe etc. In fewer words, we have to try and make them idiot proof....
