  1. Since Bartrams stopped trading, GreenMech have been looking for a partner for Sales, Service and Parts in the region. This Thursday, 5th December, GreenMech will be present at the Open Day/Evening of Thurlow Nunn Standen at their Melton Branch near Woodford. Peter Bagguley will be there supporting GreenMech and Julian Cullis with a couple of machines inside the workshop. Come along for a chat and see what we have to offer. I'm trying to get a new Evo165T, and a couple of other things on a trailer.
  2. Since Bartrams stopped trading, we have been looking for suitable partners to handle Sales, Service and Parts in the region for us. This coming Thursday, 5th December, is the Open Day/Evening of Thurlow Nunn Standen at their Melton Branch by Woodbridge. Peter Bagguley will be supporting GreenMech and the Area Manager, Julian Cullis, with a couple of machines at the event. I'm told that the event is on from 15:00 until 19:00 and we will be indoors! Come along for a chat, introduce yourself, see what we have to offer and meet the team at TNS.
  3. Not sure how many petrol units have been delivered tbh.
  4. Thought Dougie got out the big shop years back but rumoured to do a bit with saws etc....Top man, top people I always thought.....
  5. Charles gone home? The trades loss and their gain! Good luck to him. SA is no Eden! The Jensen is a lump of steel, as Ash said, go to another chipper outfit, they should be able to do the job. Parts would come from T H White's even Redwood!
  6. Does Dougie Bennett at Tavy still do stuff? On another note, 200 pages about wee chippers! Thanks Stevie Blair! It was thanks to you really!
  7. Correct, an old Timberwolf, a GreenMech and a Chinese made pos called a Nixon. Not even worth the scrap value that one!
  8. Farmi 260 HFC Crane Fed Chipper with Hydraulic Feed Bed Electric Controls - Price Estimate: £ - £ MACHINERYSALES.CHEFFINS.CO.UK
  9. John, try Stewart Ball at South West ARB, he has a Forst for sale. He got a new GreenMech lately and I couldn't place his part ex so he kept the XR8.
  10. If their is no visible signs of bearing failure at the top pulley, I would check all the fabrications along the chassis rail and the chip chamber mounting to that. It would never have left the factory with those misaligned belt pulleys. You need to get some bandage on your flexible exhaust section too.
  11. Sorry, just read your last. If you are sure cradle and hinges are good then it is likely that rear has sagged which is worse!
  12. I'm pretty sure that the hinges on the cradle are goosed. Engine shaft looks good - either cradle bent or wear in hinges or pins.
  13. Really does look like engine cradle is goosed! Either hinges, rubbers or cradle itself! Gan you waggle bottom pulley on engine?
  14. Probably more like the rear hinge. Is their a bell housing and shaft on the rear of the engine block? Using a trolly jack, lift up the engine cradle until you can remove the belts then slowly drop the cradle down until it bottoms out then check hinges.
  15. Blimey! Don't fit a spacer under the front of the block! Find out why the back has risen or the front dropped, cure the problem - don't put a plaster on it and hope it heals!
  16. Belts should also be (ideally) fitted as a matching set with them all as close to the same length. Your middle belt is not the same as the other two! Those two pulleys are not in line - either the back of the engine is tipped up or the back of your chipper tipped down meaning a bust chassis. Let us know where the issue is!
  17. Almost right with Gibson's at Colne, it is a company called PSD, a spin off from Gibson's who sell stuff through dealers up and down the country like mowers etc. Gibson's would be the agent for that area, I understand that Danequip are dealers in Sussex and they know their stuff! Look at the PSD website for clues elsewhere.
  18. Ideally, belt pulleys do need to be as near as dammit, in line. Sounds like the engine cradle mounting is out of alignment, possibly because the hinges are knackered. Is there anything that you can use as a reference between the cradle and the chassis? Is the pivot points okay? Hinge bolts present?
  19. Is the truck about to become a beavertail behind the mudguard?
  20. Jade, you need this too! Put your bid in with Nigel!
  21. The specs is pretty impressive, a tad more 'budget' than I was expecting and a bit more than just DIY, but, I'll do my best to justify it when she finds it! Perhaps list it as part of the sons inheritance!?!
  22. So, back to impact guns, budget buys? Which one? Drills, grease guns, nails? Etc, not today thanks...... My birthday soon and was dreaming of want I need to hint on!
  23. Valid point! Who wants 1000nm when things like chipper blades are 210nm, wheel studs 150nm. Same for a grease gun, you can put too much pressure into a track tensioning piston and such like.
  24. A bearing specialist came to us and was horrified that we recommend rotor bearings get two or three pumps once a week. His recommendation was one pump per week max!
  25. Anyone got an opinion? For home use fannying about in the garage and to carry in car to help change wheels etc at the roadside. Snap On, Mac etc would be good but not for my needs....
