Bloody Hell Ian, how did they know where you are? How did they get through that gate, past the house, past those dogs and the man in that caravan? Bloody awful for you....hope you get sorted....hope they hurt bad when their time is up!

GreenWich have fitted Superwinch winches to woodchippers for many years....electric is easier then hydraulic and cheaper too. As stated, prolonged use may cause them to shut down until cool, some remotes or wander leads have an LED to warn of this. They are fitted to assist in recovery and straight line pull and usual winch rules apply!

Flat blades can break because they have over sharpened and there is not enough meat left between cutting edge and blade holes, or the rotor isn't flat or they have been "bent" over something when torqued down. That or they have tried to chip the unchippable! If blades are too hard then they can be brittle, too soft and they wear too quick....

The event is from 10.00am to 3.00pm and will provide you with the opportunity to have a good look around the factory plus see some of our range in action. I started out with Echo and too be honest, the twin cylinder saws never got beat, did go over to Stihl fairly quickly but did miss the twin pots!

3 pot Isuzu rated at 35hp? Can you hear the fuel pump ticking? I think that it may be an engine we use and it is fitted with an electronic pulse pump which clicks away feeding the rack. Try testing the pump.

GreenMech is going to set up some Factory Tour dates. Likely to be toward the end of November and most likely on a Friday. I'll confirm exactly when in a few days. It could be from 09:30 until 16:00 or so, comprise of a meet and greet/coffee thing, introductory speech, power point presentation and discussion forum, buffet lunch, factory tour then depart after another coffee/chat. You don't have to be a GreenMech owner, it is open to everyone in the trade who wants to see how a GreenMech woodchipper is made and the manufacturing facility in Warwickshire (B49 5QG). We are saying that each date will be limited to 20 places. Please send me a pm to get on the first event.

Get it made by a local fabrication company or good Agri Engineer.

I should say "go back to your dealer", look in the yellow pages and go to your nearest "fastener supplier" for the bolts....Blades should be done by someone you trust, your nearest GreenMech dealer.....

Despite not being German or Scandinavian make, I have to say that they are underrated. Best saw I had was a twin pot Echo -blinder, absolute blinder....

Following on from a recent thread about factory tours etc at GreenMech, i decided to reflect on the 50 years (next spring to be precise) of manufacturing at the GreenMech factory site. We made flail mowers of different sizes for many years before Turner Engineering was amalgamated to become Bomford Turners. At that time there was a three shift set up employing some 200 people. We also made (under licence) the Turner Ranger which did win a design award and were well ahead of the game - now prized by the tractor people. We made the Elswick Envoy, a wheelchair carrier which had the bodies made by Reliant at their factory in Tamworth. We have made the small airplane tugs too. The Nickerson Turfmaster was also from this site.

Part of my role within GreenMech is to keep a watch as to what is going on in the second hand and used market....I see so many "professional" chippers and other non-compliant machines that are advertised on eBay and other such sources that I do wonder who buys them!?! I occasionally contact the seller to inform them that their machine is non-compliant to save them from possible further litigation or any injuries but i am surprised with the reactions at times. "It comes from China and they don't make s+=t!", "Get lost, I don't care if some Muppet feeds his arm in!", "it is a private sale, therefore I'm not covered by HSE!" are just a few of the examples. Even when I do guide them to the HSE website, they still don't think that the regs apply to them! I would provide the link to show examples but that would be wrong:sneaky2: Everyone has a right to earn a living but why do these things get sold and who too?

Some look really idyllic - just right to get away to for the weekend to escape from modern life - I liked the satellite dish and solar panel by the Yurt!

That was a good video, well done on that.... I can see merits in all of the tools, the swing is a good option but heaverier, the boxer - great but rare, the Avant too is good but not so good maneovuering on a slope, MultiOne gets heavier too... Pay your money and take your choice....

With holes like that, why did you bother taking to the garage?
