very true i no longer have a right forearm 2"s thicker now ive switched to a vt and it also builds your shoulders up better plus my elbow is not as bad as it used to be...........2 good reasons to switch alone i will try harder to get my dad to switch as he has to have them quartzone or what ever they are injections mainly in his right elbow from years of climbing on a taughtline and prussic
  4. yes it is ...ive heard about your crap sharpening ,jokin dude i was just playin with the first comments made . I got a 12 on my spare saw wich cuts nice but ive always used a 14... mine dont feel underpwered with out it in fact it amazes me how fast it does cut any way the matter of 2"s each to your own i spose ,i was brought up with 14" bars and thats what ill stick with saw just dont seem to balace right without ,for me that is.......

once you have got used to a vt with pully you wont go back ......it does seem odd climbing arm over arm if you have been used to a pussik and you have to re invent your body thrusting but the self tending slack (mine only does this at about 15 ft as i prefere 4-2)and coming in from limb walks one handed is genius!
  7. well mate you know your market i dont so no disrespect ......but that looks like more than 1 hours work ...im lucky im not pricing against you!
  8. you can see the top strap hanging down near tom.......got him to do the bottom one a few turns every few big limbs i took off and went side to side trying to keep the weight evan when taking limbs off
  9. there is high scale you win the prize!gap had closed up alot from when i first looked at it when on leaf and there was as second strap near the top wich fell off after taking lower branches off!
  10. and you can retreat to the north island wich they dont want as its to cold for them!one of my best mates is marrying a maori chick i stayed at her house in mangri?? for a week when i travalled there strangley the maoris i met loved the brits it was awsome 24 partys! they where really cool.......one of the first thing i remember stepping of the plain is some guy showing me the rego system on cars there and the one are looking at belongs to some huge maori bloke who was prepared to smash are heads in as soon as we explained i was english he was safe.weird hey?
  11. do they fit the cali carbs to uk spec saws?
  12. yep the 338 more ccs than the 200t i think husky for a change in saw manafacturing are actually listing to what people want they have made mistakes and seem to want to change.... at only 300 who can complain?
  13. 75? ..........you gotta be taking the piss mate!do you pay insurance or tax ?
  14. If the trees covered in ivey pegs are nice ....pegs have there places for me but i dont like them on straight stems but nice to leave a few to rest your feet on big take downs as long as they are out of the lowering routes
  15. im considering one next...not to sure why as i had like im sure every one else did a badly disapointing debut when they released there first climbing saw...it lasted 4 months before being chucked from a great height any way ive looked at the new 338 and ive been told the faults have been ironed out,its more powerfull, different carb and filter system the spark plug cover stays on and the bars stronger also the carb coller that always split has been redone
  16. engands my home its my hearts heart...........its also the biggest refugee camp in europe and that pisses me off and whats ruined it

  19. heres one i worked on must be 7+ years ago on the left ...the one on the right by another climber who just shaped the tree around to any dormant nodes leaving stubbs as oposed to drop crutching i would say the results of pruning are obvious... [/img]
