    560xp woes

The piston was good but I will use oem rings and circlips just incase they are brittle not that I have any reason to believe they would be but just out of caution and peace of mind but the Saw is still going. Meteor stuff is good but I don't think they are doing one yet for the new huskys.

    T540 what bar?

Sent them an email about the bar tips, did try ringing earlier and could not get through.

    560xp woes

Spud Cleaned the cylinder up and used a red barn Piston with a oem ring on my 560. Is the bottom end intact , you can get complete short blocks for around £200 from memory.

    T540 what bar?

On the bright side mark I had to go on a bargain hunt at David dickinsons for the bar , walked away feeling robbed though. Your right, it didn't like one handed on the ground logging but I think it was being over power lines in gale force winds with out UA tickets and one handing at the time that told the auto tune to blow it up.

    T540 what bar?

Well three bars in 3 years and the Sugi lasted 3 months so back on the tech lite. And there I was raving about how strong they were last week 😁
  7. I'd stick with the truck you know , many over priced dogs out there.
  8. I have no idea but the death of an oak tree will usually be a slow one and give it plenty of time if that is the case to develop and it won't rot as badly on the stump as a lot of species
  9. That is horrific ... ****... not some thing you want to think about too much after reading the second link.
  10. Will quite possibly be amazing timber , I once felled 5-6 big oaks on an estate, some were double cut on the 088 that had been standing 10 + years and it was all brown or tiger and worth a fortune or so I'm told ... We Swapped the butts for 8 arctics of beech fire wood and was told by another timber merchant we were robbed !!
  11. Have had these on through out the weekend over the worse rain I've ever been in and whilst the pfanner Ventura jacket started letting water through ( probably down to age and wear) my legs stayed bone dry with the cut and climbs on. Have had them on all day today reducing trees and I'm still bone dry no condensation wetness through sweating ,I noticed the guy I was working with was soaked from sweat from his normal water proofs.
  12. All trees looped topped and felled ask driver for details.
  13. Yeah I get that Mate ! The saw already had a muffler mod, just thinking of smoothing off the casting lines. Can you just drop out the gasket and use liquid or is that asking for trouble with out getting tech and measuring the squish etc.
  14. Ok Steve this goes against probably every thing you have advised me ! Worked the bruise on the cylinder wall with 260 then finished with 400 and slightly removed the lip barely half a MM I would of thought to even the lump out at the top of the exhaust port... Whilst I was there filed the plastic fuel inlet wider so it matched the cylinder... Is it doomed !!! Or can I get the dremel out and go to town
  15. Pic for Steve

    Dolmar

    Now I like this ...
  17. I've never seen a reliable 880 !
  18. Coming out of Bellingham towards the a68 Log sheds starting to flood now 👎🏻
  19. Would not be as bad for us any way if FC had not blocked flood plain with a new road but they are law unto themselves.
  20. Getting deeper John this was new road about 8 this morning This is it now it's been washed away ! Few more feet to go to the house though! Drive down to the north Tyne and it's broke its banks this was 3 hours ago so it will be a lot higher now it was already breaching main roads at around 1
  21. I hope not it's not flooded in 200 years apparently! I think it's more likely to wash the new road away but quite likely to get in one of the log sheds.
  22. I've wanted one for about 20 years though Steve , last one that was in the family was retired to the parts bin so I took the dogs off to make ninja knuckle dusters like you do when your about 12 ...if only I had access to those tea chests of saws now !! a variety of old stihls , huskys and dolmars I do believe the whole lot was scrapped the last bit of the 166 remaining was the starter pull that I had on my favourite 200 t... I really liked the grips on it !
  23. This is usually the road out of the house but it keeps bursting its banks since the FC did an amazing job of blocking off a flood plane with a new road .. Nice and black and we are stuck at home and Needed to go in to town for saw spares.
  24. I got a whole bottom end short block for £180 I did try and rebuild with a crank off an a 562 but the crank was the wrong size for the clutch Off a 560 ,which reminds me it needs to go on eBay.
  25. I'm on my way !
