Cool , looks a good day out Ian. It would be interesting to see how they get ridiculous strength out of the tiny accessory krabs ! Think they are one of my favourite inventions at the moment for clipping on working SRT accessories.

Wages should be more ,they are the same as they were 20 years ago unfortunately there are plenty of have a go gardeners who will do it for beer tokens with there mate whilst having no idea of the best industry guidelines and practices and doing us all a massive favour boosting accident statistics then making it harder for every one else trying to run a legitimate business with more rules and regulations being applied as a direct result. More training, more insurance it's hard for bosses to keep wages what they should be I guess...

Your not using the 25m rope off the side D's ?? The wire rope for positioning off the D's as well as in conjunction with the 25m rope off the main attachment should be fine... I've never heard of it being wrong !

A family friends father has got a farm in alnmouth with holiday lets , they are basic and on a working farm but cheap let me know if you fancy going back there and I'll pm you the guys details I recon you will need to book in advance as It gets busy over there that time of year. -
We have got some pretty steep slopes on fields a good 40 degrees or more that our AGT tops no bother.

I'm not entirely sure j I would like to keep the timber or most of it though, we have quite a few projects I would like to do with it but maybe can come to an arrangement if I can get it kiln dried, I was just going to plank it along parallel with the one bit of Shake that also goes with the only way I would fit it on the mill, or I could saw it in half along that with the Alaskan and mill the two halfs on the band saw.. I'm totally open to ideas to get the best out of it. Sounds a plan nick, perfect for the stickers you made us.

Can't remember the cost at all mate it was a while back!! Spud is on Arb talk , if you go on the chainsaw section he has a spuds porting and tuning thread, check it out and send him a pm if your interested.

Got the thing on , getting it off was a different story , any way top idea josh it worked a treat hopefully I can save a few more logs for the mill now. I recon I can cut 3" off the side flute at the base showing no immediate burring and fit it on the mill but will take some balancing!

You could fell it or reduce it heavily in the hope it will regenerate a new crown it's not going to get any better and will probably end up like this typical damage of what happens when some fool thinks a living entity won't mind having a fire against it...

Husky do the short block complete for about £200 so new big ends crank seals and case is not a bad price. I carry a back up also but would not want to use any other saw. I brought another 560 when the bottom end went on my first 560 which I was kind of expecting as it was one of the first gen with only 5 case bolts ,saved up for the bits and sent the knackered saw to spud and it was rebuilt with a pop up piston, ported head and a muffler mod it's pretty mad and if I'm honest I will probably use the standard 560 if I'm working all day as it requires concentration but is good for a few tanks to speed things up during the day.

No beast tree but nice and awkward ,a Wind blown hung up Corsican with a nice SRT anchor point up the shot beech next to it. Used another Corsican behind to secure an anchor line and wind some tension up on the lowering device once the top was dismantled the last bit was cut free then lowered the stem down with a felling cut swung it all away from the building , all worked a treat.

I tried that when the sole fell off some Trekkers after 7 months instead of the usual 8-9 and they would not honour it and have never owned or recommends them since.

I'll see what the guy says j and if he can wait that long any way, I know he's been on the phone today asking about it and it's across his front drive a nice house and grounds so looks a bit messy , I could not roll it any further at the time , he originally wanted it logged but that is one of the straightest bits of large Feild maple I've found so thought it's criminal to do that ! If he can't wait I'll take the Alaskan down as the tractor and cranes out of action. Would it be worth cutting in to thicker boards If the Alaskan is the only option for the band saw later ?

This Plippy trunk what do you recon fellas ? If it's a yes what should I pay for it I was thinking £50 ,Too much or more? Was thinking its a morning with the Alaskan.

There could be a lot of factors in that though stubby , have not used mine in six month.... Then it will get a hammering so obviously if you have sense you would rinse the tank of stale fuel before use but I bet many don't.

On a quick net troll the 090 was still made up until 2005 for export in Germany ... The saws in the photos my guess are ms720's ,I'm no Stihl old school saw expert so excuse my ignorant in first comment but it does appear the ms720's are the main saws used in this market and are still in production ... Which really goes to show how much they care about the well being of people in Africa or rain forests as long as there is a market.
