  1. I would'nt trust Defra to find their bottoms with both hands.
  2. I used to have a 1750 mog on 28 inch rims, the biggest problem was the sheer weight of the thing. I also used to have 2 130's and a couple of 110's. Both would go places the maog would just sink. At the end of the day its horses for courses. I did like the pics though Huck.
  3. Particularly applicable to attractive young women...
  4. does it make good firewood steve?
  5. Anyway, getting back to the subject of help, I am willing (for a small fee) to come down and point out all the ways you are doing it wrong. I'm sure you would value this service.

  7. Its miss, not mate
  8. I challenge anyone to try and outsplit a hydraulic splitter, even on ash or scots pine.
  9. Certainly not the case with my policy. The only exclusion I have is fires within 10 meters of a building.
  10. Warrington borough council put a TPO on some high oak stumps left behind by an avaricious developer- sure enough the stumps sprouted and are now supporting vigorous coppice growth.
  11. Crane size was fine. But his outriggers were barely half out...
  12. Cambium still intact?
  13. not a sausage. no-one is admitting to it locally... might have been a crew from shropshire or west midlands, as its in Corris, just up the road from the Centre for alternative technology. Funny thing is, I did a crane job in almost exactly the same place about 10 years ago.
  14. Yes.... but crane company's have cranes fall over all the time... of the ones I know, it was'nt one of theirs. I love the way they've tried to blame it on the operator... would you really try to lift anything with the outriggers only half way out:bird:
  15. STill trying to find out who that was, as it was only on my doorstep, but surprisingly, no one wants too admit to it. Bloody stupid, whoever they were. Obviously had no clue.
  16. Maybe....
  17. Thats great news Pete. My lurcher Finn has survived nearly a year on steroids with a severe brain tumour, but I think he's geting close to the big sleep... I always said I did not want him to suffer...
  18. Hey Dave! Welcome indeed! Hope that wont be your last post...
  19. maybe transplant an Amazon engine? Can you imagine how cool that would be - Landrover body and chassis with Toymota mechanicals...?
  20. Its a 1999 model, but its a Jap import with low hours. Case are now rebadged Sumitomo's I believe. I think I was talking about your long reach machine tday with Alastair from treeshears.
  21. I was thinking about £900, but thats for me to take the timber away on the grab truck.
  22. I wanted specificaly that spec - 13tonne minimum (its actually 14.2) zero tailswing, under 10 years old, rubber pads and a blade - It took quite a while to find it, and due to the sharp increase in excavator prices, a lot more money than I thought... Still, I'm very hapy with it. Next on the list is a bunching treeshear attachment.
  23. We just need Carl to come and wax lyrical over your daughters ... at least it saves me doing it...
