  2. Sorry John, my response was emotional rather than rational... I understand the position your in. I have succesfully reduced beech in identical condition by up to 75%, creating new crowns with massively reduced sail area.
  3. If I have to explain, you would'nt understand.
  4. Poor tree. Damn cotton wool safety freak councils.
  5. Nice work Adam. nice to see a prussik in use still
  6. I look forward to it. That way, People will have to pay me serious money to climb and dismantle the trees that a Mewp cant reach.
  7. Even better if you have a ported Husky....

    chipper

Still good value for a brand new chipper. We bought a little Vermeer 620 chipper brand new in the late 80's, they were the first in the country and that was £7000 back then. Btrac must have made a fortune back then.
  11. Its like applying for planing permission - you have to advertise your intention in the local press. If its a residential area, people could object, and you would'nt get permission. apart from that, its easy.

How much is a new kohler powered Timberwolf? Under £10k?
  13. I HATE poplar right now. Just coming to the endo f a felling contract, 89 BIG manchester poplar, brittle as shortbread, absolute nightmare to clean up. Wish they were nice hybrids like that one John. Good job btw.
  14. In my experience, expect those to put on at least 750mm per growth season...
  15. Nice work john. I am a big fan of pollarding as a way of managing urban trees. The french and germans have been doing it for hundreds of years - I'll dig out some pics of the huge Acer pollards i took in Annecy, france.
  16. Really nice work Matty.
  17. Hello little Ed
  18. Not in cheshire by an chance? sounds remarkably like one of my old aquaintances...
  19. These are pretty random. SOme strange bloke in a mac, some drunken bird, and a guiness fueled Big A and PeteMctree...
  20. Richard Dadd - 'The fairy fellers master stroke' Good idea though. think I'll go hunt up some Bosch...
  21. Filthy but funny:fisheye:
  22. Could'nt take an ex squaddie then?
  23. Go on Dean, give us the details - cant leave us in the lurch with such a good tale, east end heavies vs northern grit...
  24. Poor little thread, have some great tunes. Leon and Pete will appreciate these - the first is Peace Orchestra's 'who am I' used in the Animatrix - turn the lights down and turn it up... [ame] [/ame] This is a great tune by Juno Reactor, 'conga fury' also used in the Animatrix... and the vid clip is AWSOME. [ame] [/ame]
