  1. A smart car would be much more eco then Jonny:thumbup:
  2. I had my double cab for 7 years, and it never did less than 22 on a tank full. In the last couple of years it hardly ever did any towing and was put into virtual semi retirement. It was used purely for pricing once a week. This is what I would class a "rough idea what a l/r 110 xc crewcab does to the gallon around town ,no towing" as Jonny asked.
  3. So, if they did, perhaps the next question would be "Oh why didnt husky make their bars fit a stihl?":001_rolleyes:
  4. I guess around town must mean a very different thing in out local towns!
  5. Amazing the lengths folk will go to in the hope they can run a thread never been done before!
  6. In the last few years I had mine it did more like 30, but that was due to little towing on reasonable runs. The tipper I have now though that's always either full or towing, or both, does 20 if its lucky. It has been opened slightly though, and I don't spare the gas:001_huh:
  7. Don't think I'd be pricing a strimmer, as asked for, a clearing saw would not use much line and would probably a bigger machine. You guys are sure selling yourselves cheap!
  8. Haha, I was going to ask if someone else fancied that job, then deleted it! Dare say there wont be much in it really, but other factors do come into the equation too such as yard space, method, speed (and space) for final seasoning etc. Will be a huge calculation if anyone fancies it:001_rolleyes:
  9. Very tidy 4000 there, has it been restored? Don't see many in that condition without going around the shows.
  10. Mmmm, yet the outlay of probably twice as much cord on a stack due to the extra seasoning time will be a high cost.
  11. Very dependant on species IMO. Just in the world of hardwood it varies a lot, as Jon says such as oak can take years, yet such as sickie will get below 25% in a matter of months left in the stick.
  12. Also Chris, check bearings. Slight lash can heat up enough to make the one shot runny. As quip says, the breather is main suspect for blowing cap off though.
  13. Assuming 7st means 7 seats it will have airbags on the rear suspension. They can leak sometimes, appearing to "drop" overnight, with a few other teething problems. As Rob says they're problematic but not a big issue to anyone who knows discoverys. Nothing else springs to mind with me to be a big issue, history would give an all over reassurance, possibilities of needing a clutch ect could be coming up with the mileage but certainly wouldnt put me off buying. The motors are strong, only costly thing can go is a few had head issues, so would be reassuring if its not had any history of head being off etc. The auto is not a weak point on these either, in fact can even be better for wear and tear on props and axles.
  14. Is he likely to deliver to Yorkshire for that price?
  15. Got my dawgs fitted to mine now, feels like its big brother now!
  16. There really is no need to be sceptical, if you need a topper just get one of these sorted! My comments earlier on this thread may have seemed a bit whacko to some, but my point is, there really is no other option IMO. If the 201 doesn't float your boat, you're gonna end up buying the 540, so don't put it off, crack on and get one reserved.
  17. Think your lass has burned your brekkie mate:lol: Nice motor that Stevie:thumbup1:
  18. As title, I'm looking for a wholesale supplier of dry kindling somewhere local at a reasonable price, so the haulage wont kill it! I've tried the firewood directory, but there seems to be a big none supplier area around our part of the UK! So, if there's any chance of a supplier within say 80 miles of HU17 I'd love to know prices and spec for me to collect. PM probably would be best, but please feel free to comment also.
  19. Yes Mark, very true. We all need to move forward and accept this is the best "performing" saw available now. Unfortunately, the whole way we look at new stuff needs to change. We no longer can look at stuff comparing to the old in the world of performance, that's not the main priority now. Low emissions is highest priority. Get into the frameset of the "green world" and then accept whats available in that sector, the days of pop pop engines spewing plumes of harmful black smoke are gone, we are now ruled by EU genius who know better:thumbdown:
