Eventhough i have 660, in fact near a full line of stihl, one of the best quotes i have seen is from the mighty Big A, and he said; "white up the tree, orange on the floor" Still cant find a just reason to argue with that. Cant believe i said that with only one husky in use, time for a drink........

Is that a stihl in your avatar though, it looks 660ish?
  5. I hear West Yorks is nice this time of year:proud:
  6. Guess im there now Darin, nothing like that face at the window at the end of the day. Enough to make any grown man weep.
  7. Just a bit of an update for those who showed interest; Insurance is not all it seemed, both myself and my dad have business insured with NFU. When my dad rang and informed them of the theft, they replied with a letter saying he had no longer got household insurance with them so the parts were not covered. On contacting them he was told that no machinery, equipment, stock or supplies are covered on his business policy. He presently pays in excess of £800 for his "business" policy. When he contacted the household insurers they said because they were viehicle parts they werent covered, and should have motor policy insurance- even though the viehicle is in hundreds of parts! My policy didnt cover the parts as they were not on my property. So, bit of a learning experience, the insurance policies are now to be reduced to the bare minimum, and the money saved will go towards extra security measures like CCTV, PIR`s, flood lights and a good stock of 12 bore cartridges.
  8. Too right, if only for the fun of a clear fell:icon14:
  9. Looks like you`ll have to resort to the 12 bore after all!
  10. Cheers for the link kev, as you know then, doors are scary money! If you get a set of graphite grey metallic offered, give me a bell! CCTV sounds like the way to go, dome cameras and few signs could be a good option.
  11. I`ll try and reply to you all in one post!; Yes MB, dogs are a good idea, my Dad has had them in the past but now says its too much responsibilty at his age! Both parents are now 70. Log and Pecon, landy doors are very rare in good condition, i got these from a 2004 crashed truck and payed £800 for them! There is lots of people know i am renovating the truck but very few know where it is, but they definately knew what they wanted. The insurance seem ok about it and are sending the claim form, but it doesnt make up for the hastle and most of all the worry placed on my parents. I do think that the majority of people would agree with you guys in having a go if you caught them, even my Dad would still have a go but hey, you never really know how many of them there is, if there are repocussions etc. Not really worried about parts, or money, just fuming about the invasion of my fathers "castle". He is a very proud man who has worked for every penny he has. Thanks for the support guys, its obvious there is a small percentage of people who dont have morals any more.
  12. Seems we do get a lot butch, but bear in mind theres lots more guns in US, im sure thats a deterrant to petty theft, and also here if you get hold of a thief, its you who can end up in trouble!
  13. You guys dont get fed at home then? Guess i dont need extra nutrition, thats why i prefer Maple climbing-at least you dont get the flys!
  14. Some people are sure passionate about trees!
  15. Just a bit of a rant really, and not arb related, but as some might know i am presently rebuilding a V8 County Land Rover. I have bought just about everything needed to rebuild, having totally stripped the old one, got a new chassis galvanised and now its all reay to start the build. Sometime over the weekend, some very kind people relieved me of the most valued bits, like new doors etc. These guys knew what they were after, having sifted through other parts to get the fittings for the items they pinched. On this occasion i will stick up for the "pikey or gypo" guys, this was someone who really knows landys! One of the most upsetting parts to it is, the landy is at my parents, and of course this has upset an elderly couple, wondering if they will come back etc. Anyway, no particular point to me posting the topic other than to let you know how how narked i am, and each time something like this happens, makes you realise what world we live in!
  16. Yeh chuffed with the chipper really, suppose this is the most major work its needed- not bad in 4 years! And still climbing, like you say, just.... bad back, soon need a new hip, overweight, getting older................ On that thought better get back on thread, glad it was you who hijacked your own thread anyway:wave:
  17. Nice one uncle Al, guess we are a bit slow at looking under our noses!
  18. Thought it was bearings, but on stripping it, shaft worn also-its been getting worse for a while so went for overhaul, rebuilt shaft, balance, bearings etc. Have had spider drive probs in the past but have been able to align that better recently, just needs nylon drive. Old girl still going well though, does less work now though.
  19. Just sussed it out Dean, It WAS your chipper! Think i`ve had it 4years now, thought i recognised the garage!
  20. Too right mate, only reason it looks tidy is because i had to clear some room........ maybe this pic might explain why; Yes the rest of the greenmech is in the back of my Landy:bawling: Need i say more:thumbsdown:
  21. Our recent edition to the family, Pip, has turned out to be a monster! Nothing is sacred, everything is fair game. But after all that play, theres lots of this; Here with the old girl Snoopy;
  22. Real chuffed for you Pete, had us a bit worried there.
  23. Here you go Eden, mine is a 900 Trident Sprint. Wouldnt part with this old girl though, 1993 only got 16k on the clock and still does the bizz. And my little one, thinking one day.........
  24. Matt, it sounds like my tree was the same as bens, it was windblown and left for 2years before i got to it. The rootball and stem were rotten but i have salvaged about 3-4tons of limbs, all around 6feet long and 24inch diameter. There is a guy in the next village who would probably give me £100-200 for it, guess thats not so bad then?
  25. I know what you mean ben, would be nice to think it went to a good home and just got beer money for your efforts instead of logging it:bawling:
