  1. Sorry to hear andy, its the lowest of the low who will pinch another mans earning capacity. Hope you get it back.
  2. That was a big tree, bet they were upset at loosing a feature like that from the front of the building!
  3. I started tinkering with saws when i was 12 or 13, in about 1980. Used to cut logs for my dad with his old homelite. After leaving school, went working on farms where i always had an interest in any tree work, especially in the early 1990`s when i worked and lived on an estate with 2000 acres of managed woodland, where a few of us spent 5 months of the year thinning! Finally left farming in 2001 and set up on my own from scratch. Got my climbing ticket in 2003 when i was 35! So i guess ive two answers on time served- over 25 years tinkering, but nearly 7 years full time.
  4. Lol:wave:
  5. Too right Chris. Rebuilding one AND running another takes some doing:scared: Did u get the pics ok Chris?
  6. They are galv ones kev, just thay have a bit of paint on them (I didnt clean them:drunk:). Not that clear on the pic.
  7. These are the present two, my work one and obviously the red one is in slightly better condition now! This is my old 90, earned me good money, suppose i realised what a great truck it was after i sold it!
  8. Well spotted kev, they were recycled- still got some black paint on! Ooops:fisheye:
  9. Yeh, not sure of one near there end of june. The APF has moved though, it was near Evesham in Sept 2006.
  10. My palms are very, very sweaty now! I now have this vision in my head what the mess on the floor would be like if he slipped:puke:
  11. Been out conifer killing again! Not very fancy but i`m not proud- the money was Good! These were Larson, over 50 years old; After 2 gone; The customer came out with the old favourite when we finished "I cant believe how much extra light we`ve got in the back of the house now"!
  12. We have this piece of work in a village near us. It stands next to the village pond and strangely it always has ducks and geese near it;
  13. A bit more progress; starting to look like a landy now...............
  14. This is just a soppy shot of her when she came out;
  15. Oh, and before anyone mentions it, if i do go in the water i WILL be on my own- therefore no pics will be available:wave:
  16. One step further, got Pip to swim a little the other day. This pic is as far as she went, note she was nearly under water infront of snoopy! Seemed to be going well that day, trouble is ive been to the river another couple of times since and she wont swim! Looks like im going to have to get wet!
  17. Think you mean this mate; http://www.apfexhibition.co.uk/
  18. Think its only with a few mate, dont panic over it! Run it in? Do you mean bray it as hard as you can for the first 10 tanks of fuel, getting it well loosened up? Wouldnt worry about running in nowadays, i`ve found running them steady for a start leaves a saw tight all its life. If it blows, its on warranty:wave:
  19. Dean, sounds like a design issue but could be made worse by other things, like as said pump and motor wear, but, i dont want to insult your fitter abilities, how old is the oil and how many hrs has it done? Regular use and sometimes short periods of use can cause a lot of condensation to build up in the tank, especially in winter when the oil cold to hot temps are widest. My greenmech (your old one) slowly started doing the same, the oil was like milk, so changed it and filter- totally transformed! Just another thought to add to the pot.......
  20. Cheers Mac, will check that out.
  21. Yep, tree looks very healthy other than this. There are some other marks on opposite side. Couldnt see any type of damage.
  22. Hadnt noticed it was sunny- been in office ALL day:hmmmm: Wish i was out there though, got the paper work done now:boring:
  23. Ok, I`m not that hot on tree biology so here goes; Presently thinning a row of over- populated hornbeams. The trees are under a blanket TPO, had a survey done, therefore permission granted on basis of report. Found this bleeding on a tree to be retained and wondered if it was something for the customer to worry about? This tree is about 20" diameter in the stem, around 45- 50 feet high and the bleeding is only upto 2 feet off the ground. Not done much work on hornbeam, so never seen this before, any help would be good to give as feedback to the customer, cheers, Pete;
  24. Thats it dean, only on the station wagon apparently, along with rear anti-roll bar. Said to give smoother ride!
  25. Good lot more painting been done so on with a few big bits now; Thats about up to date now, got a nice weekend ahead so maybe get a good bit more done.
