  1. Nice to watch, confident climber with a lot of control. Nice to see a big top come off and hardly kick the stem.
  2. Looks nice work Mac, as the others have said, right decision, keep it monitored and tell the client "the risk has been reduced but as with any tree there are never any guarantees"
  3. How it worked for me was, let the animal see you doing it.............Lol:001_tongue:
  4. Before anyone asks, the last two weeks have been hard work, there has been much frustration and even embarrassment trying to encourage her, but, i must add, there are NO pictures, Sorry. Glad to say it was worth it, we got there in the end.
  5. We finally got there lastnight though:001_smile: This was Pip swimming like a good one with Snoopy. Once she got the hang of it, i could hardly keep her out;
  6. This was the scene of a desperate man about two weeks ago! I managed to get Pip a bit further in, but this was the most swimming she did;
  7. Ok Dagmar, where did you hide the camera- ive looked, cant find it anywhere! At least im famous now:001_smile:
  8. At least you got a good saw going from it mozza, just raggin you:001_cool:
  9. Damn Huskys, just too reliable! Thought he might have been tempted by an offer of cash, but hey! I once saw one run over by a volvo loader, every panel was bust or bent, it started first time:scared1:
  10. Would be very unlikely that they would report you, and i doubt they would want you to drop some load in their yard. The onus is put on you as you are obviously made aware of your own overloading. The ministry can, and do sometimes inspect weighbridge tickets. As i believe, most weighbridges only have registration marks on the tickets(unless it has changed recently) and therefore there is little chance the ministry would know the gross weight of the vehicle, unless they checked with DVLA. Sometimes the ministry also await vehicles leaving bridges.
  11. Sorry Nige, thought i only knew one robbo, just know john as, well, john:blushing: Yeh me and john worked on same farm before i went self employed. Think he is SE now himself game keeping isnt he? John is once met never forgot, if you see a landy coming puffing smoke, and a pair of specks above a birdsnest behind the wheel, its him:001_cool: Nice to find you on here Nige, and hope work is keeping you busy.
  12. If all else fails, i`ll beat bobs bid with £80:001_tt1:
  13. I recon its coz youve got that dewalt bag full of Yorks stone butties:sneaky2:
  14. Cheers, was in Sutton village, and Hull City Council. You know the area? Think it would have been more straight forward if it was East Yorks. HCC always seem more reluctant to lose a tree at whatever cost, but then again they dont have that many:scared1:
  15. Recon it was because that old hemp rope had rotted after 60 years:sad:
  16. Managed to slot it down the ten foot but needed new pants after:scared1:
  17. Too right Mac, needed a bit of confidence in the(rotten) hinge as i felled it along the ten foot. Just about as scary as seeing the extent of the decay once its on the floor, knowing i just climbed it and removed the side limbs:ohmy:
  18. Not yet Iain, but i sure got plenty:001_cool:
  19. chestnuts come in all sorts of shapes and sizes round us:blushing:
  20. Ok steve, still posting pics......Lol My concern now is, should i have left a stem as habitat? Also, the tree was in a ten-foot, with limited access but along side a public right of way.
  21. Upon climb inspection found the main stem to be hollow below the damage and very unstable above it. After further, shall we say "communication" with the TO, the decision was made to fell;
  22. I was called to a Sycamore couple of weeks back, customer saying it had shed a limb. I got there to look and the customer had already had the TO down (conservation area), who said the tree was healthy, just needed some light limb reduction. I looked, found this; various brackets at the base extensive run out from this lower cavity
  23. Mozza, you thought of peugeot 406? Good size, bomb proof motor, 50+mpg Would deffo go for skoda over vauxhall, heard some bad reports on the diesel, and better build quality on the skoda
  24. A mate of mine was getting done over one night, he heard them, rushed out and ran down the drive just wearing nothing but a pair of riggers boots and a traffic cone on his head shouting obsenities in german- they dropped the swagg and ran:wave:
