  1. As it says in Petes link square filing will give a marginal difference, but will not last as long, and is mainly aimed at softwood cutting. As a result of that, i would say it would only have limited uses. I dont believe it would keep its edge well in general arb work and even most forestry, but could have a use in perhaps softwood thinnings where there is little chance of "dirty" timber
  2. I noticed that Charlieh, and i also noticed how long it was taking to put the saw into work on the round filed cuts:sneaky2: Not a big fan of these types of comparison:thumbdown:
  3. Your saw man is wrong Lee:001_smile: It amazes me how little people know on the subject of chains in general:thumbdown:
  4. Trouble is ive just gone from green to vermeer:blushing:
  5. I think the exchange rate was having a bearing on the jensons when i spoke to him last, and said the greenmech price was more affordable in comparison, hence more sales. Always had good dealings with Alan myself:thumbup1: Still a good run up the road for Bob though
  6. Didnt know that Johnny, is that why they are selling greenmech now?
  7. Beaver Plant, Stamford Bridge Bob.

Do you know anything about the 362 Dave, is it coming out here soon?
  12. Thats a little strange, why has he done that?

  14. Where is Ed, Im sure he would give some good advice
  15. Might be worth a try for a few quid; LDV PILOT/CONVOY/CUB DIESEL WORKSHOP MANUAL on eBay (end time 24-Jan-10 09:09:14 GMT)
  16. Surprised Mr Ed has not got in on this thread, he is the man to ask:thumbup1:
  17. Either that or the one on the front bumper:thumbup:
  18. Good point, b101. As a guide to how much the nose weight affects rear axle weight, measure the distance between axles of the truck, (say 3meters), then measure the distance from rear axle to tow ball (say 1meter). If the nose weight of the trailer/chipper is say 100kgs, the actual added axle weight on the truck will be 133kgs.
  19. The builder i got mine off said they had it regularly weighed at 2200kgs, and that was with only a few small hand tools in the cab. It had very heavy drop down sides on it, so i think it would be around 2050 with those off. Just the new sides etc to add on. Anything below 2500 will be good enough for me, but as others have just said, because the center of the load bay is now behind the rear axle, it may be overloading the rear axle with less than a ton on it:sneaky2:
  20. Sorry Bud, i was being sarcastic! I dont think over greasing the blade will cause a fault with the spark Sounds like the dealer is the best option for you.
  21. Just done 4 bottles of Bud and a bottle of Hardys. Now the wife says i have to down half a tumbler of Dows and a mince pie:beerchug: Hope my daughter doesnt get up toooooooo early in the morning:sleep:
  22. Ermmmm, in that case no thanks! Quite dissapointed in the way you managed this thread.
  23. So Margaret, is there any chance we can read a copy of the report from Stevie on here?
  24. Could it be you over greased the blade?
