  2. Think i would give him a go, sounds fit and keen enough.
  3. I was just thinking that. What if he was to do bits of woodland management, in your wood, as his "hobby" and clear small amounts of timber to keep the woodland "tidy"?
  4. Let us know how it goes when youve sharpened it up a bit Dave:thumbup1:
  5. Just raggin you Tommy, you were so busy thinking about girlies you got all mixed up between shows:lol:
  6. I nearly spat my wine out! Got a dribble down my chin anyway:lol:
  7. looks good Dave, the first one i made had a digger blade the same as yours on it and it sent logs flying too. I sharpened the angle as treequip says and it cured it. Its a bit difficult (and scary) trying to keep hold of the log when its too blunt:blushing:
  8. I recon you must be dreaming now tommy:confused1: Ive been to a few, but dont remember the 2007?
  9. Cheers Pete:thumbup:
  10. I could just see the advert for them; "Harrogate Moisture Meter, guranteed to dry your wood quicker"
  11. Is that Dean you're talkin about?
  12. Did you use the wraptor on that one Pete?
  13. Never checked any below 15% on my log heap Jonny, but guess my customers arent so choosey as yours:sneaky2:
  14. Yeh, sounds like a nice friendly do, never been there but got rellies nearby so could drop the family off and go down for a day
  15. 9% was that Harrogate percent Jonny? Sounds very dry:sneaky2:
  16. So what amount of trade stands are there, say in comparison the the APF?
  17. This "seasoned" subject keeps going on and on, and lots of talk about this and that, but what moisture would you say seasoned should be? I realise if you state a particular moisture content, it must be such, but at what point is it no longer a "green" product?
  18. John, perhaps its on seeing the title, old farts with no hair are concerned if the up and coming new generation are a threat to the iron filing sarnie bregade:lol:
  19. I could run to a months wages, so if it goes over £250, im knackered:001_tt2:
  20. Yeh Mozz, i was meaning young buck Liam, but hey:laugh1: Just curious anyway, not sure i have a spare £500 spare for a toy though if Andys right:001_huh:
  21. Ive been doing firewood on and off for over 20 years and only just got one. I was horrified to find out some log moistures, like some elm thats been split for 4 months, feels and looks very dry, but was 31% on the outside of the log:scared1: As for where to test, yes, in the middle of a split log. And yes, if you advertise seasoned below 20% moisture, one log at 21% is not acceptable. That does mean testing logs top middle and bottom of bag if you want to run it that close:sneaky2: I personally would sell them when they are at least 3 or 4% below what they are advertised at.
  22. Is that with a phone? Cheap if it is.
  23. i know theres been lots of threads on this but this is the one i got; Kamasa Mini Moisture Tester - Machine Mart
  24. Never weighed it but think frank is about on it, about 750-800kgs i think
