Oh FFS have people got nothing better to do than question me ! The trees were not in an urban back garden they were in part of a large estate which was planted with Wellies, Thuja and Lawson a very long time ago. Sections of the estate were sold off for building houses and the rest is a golf course. he only other tress approaching this height i've dealt with were some Limes in Farnham Park in Surrey.

Thanks for that Tim, glad to hear your insight into a job you weren't at. I think I have sufficient experience after 15 years in the industry to quantify the height of a tree !

Yes it was proper crap and no i wouldn't ever ever do a job like that again it's not worth the hassle as people won't pay what a job is really worth. Sawdust was all tubbed up and carried off site, logs were cut so small so we could carry them 80' uphill and throw them in a 10 tonne ag trailer. We had 1 x grain trailer full of just sawdust, dross and rakings !

Just to clarify, it all depends on the spec of the Unimog and what it is classed as. If it's agricultural specification and road taxed and logbooked as a tractor then the above advise applies. Be carefull !

No you don't lol, the Dutch Dragon has a very small infeed and will only produce the quoted figures on roundwood. Useless on whole trees. The best chipper forwarders have Bruks or Erjo drum chippers fitted. My personal favourite being Erjo. Marc, that must have cost him a fortune !! bet he had the crane fitted by the factory as well ?
