  1. Gees what a knarly old bugger !!
  2. Over tosh Angus, you need ag spec for this job. It would cost you a small fortune to convert one of those.
  3. I would agree with Stevie and had the same set up myself. Disadvantages of a roof mount are you lose reach and it can make it unstable, far better on a short king post behind the cab. Advantages - makes the tractor much more versatile, you can crane feed a chipper, dismantle small butts, tow and load an ag trailer, tow and load a timber trailer. This option is fairly expensive, make sure you get solid wheels and reverse drive is a real bonus. The other option (and the cheapest) is to get a timber trailer and run a decent tractor, MF 390T are good if you can find one ! Disadvantages are you can only really lift and shift butts as small bits will fall out. Third option is an ag trailer with a botex / timber crane on, these are fairly expensive and will take quite a battering. Best piece of kit you'll ever spend money on. The lack of road speed isn't really an issue. Leave 10 mins before the lads and on an average journey you'll get to site the same time.
  4. Yeah i saw that this am, had to laugh when they quoted FC production figures and said that must mean there lots of wood out there for everyone lmao ! No thought that that timber might actually be going somewhere else lol
  5. I to would do it, but would seek advice on wording etc. or you could drop yourself right in it !
  6. To much of the same colour and far to 'busy' IMO. The headings on the left hand side need to stand out more etc...
  7. Ahh The 'Talk' lol, i think everbody has had it at some time or another lol Everything in moderation
  8. Good grinders BUT the earlier one fell apart very reguarly lol
  9. It has been said by many I am already a big tart i need no advice lol
  10. Just a quick point here, DON'T rely on GPS produced grid refrences, they are a nav tool and that's all. Like Kipper said have your risk assesment filled out before hand and take the OS Grid off a map beforehand. I was involved in a rescue in the Langdale Pikes, 3 GPS grids were provided to mountain rescue but in the end it was my grid of an os map that proved to be the accurate one. Well done Kipper sounds like it all went like clock work for you
  11. Dear lord, to many people have got very interested in this topic lol
  12. Ahh the million dollar question lol
  13. Best wishes in what ever path you choose Jason. Awesome photographs BTW
  14. You are a proper cad my man lol I can just see the headlines now !! I'd suggest NOT gogleing Ed's suggestion unless you fancy a visit from the SIS lol Quite true though i find these compounds mixed correctly can solve most problems LMAO
  15. I've never had re-growth from painting the stump with roundup neat. If it's hot and runny add a little washing up liquid as an adjuvant.
  16. Er shouldn't you be on the road lol
  17. You can completley disreagard average values IMO, I looked into this quite a bit 2 x years ago. It all depends what rights comes with the wood and it's proximity to conurbations. From the info you have given it'll be near the upper end of the spectrum.
  18. Hi mate, Neil is a good lad. I'm a bit far North to come see you but I'll drop you a PM if I'm in the area. If your chip is kept clean of rubbish, logs, stone and soil you'll have no problems. They have to lay it on thick but it's pretty rare to have a load rejected. It's fairly easy to have someone in the wagon when it's loaded to watch out for crap as well. PM me your details and I'll have a chat with Neil tomorrow.
  19. Ha ha ha lol
  20. I posted this pdf in another thread but i thought i'd stick it in it's rightfull place here as well ! collection_and_loading.pdf AHS_Recycling_Site_Clearance_Insert.pdf Introduction_leaflet.pdf

  24. Educate the client if you can't don't press the matter shut up and get on with it withtin reason. I have walked away from some really horrrific requests because i didn't want to damage the reputation of my business. Press the matter to hard and the client will nod and agree while your there quoting but just use someone else when your gone !
  25. I'd agree with Andy *good god* I am an experienced climber but have never done a cran job. I'd be happy to do it but would want someone experienced on site. Ecspecially if the crane driver isn't switched on !
