  1. All limbs were lowered due to a block paved drive underneath, that cut is probably just where she did a little snap cut to throw off a short stub !
  2. Harvester Forwarders do not always run on brash mats it depends on the site and the clients. In N Wales for example due to the fragile ground most sites are run on brash mats. In the SE on the sand etc brash mats aren't required. Chipping at stump works well on some sites, usually clearfell, chip forwarders are big heavy machines and only work well with a chip shuttle unless the extraction route is very small. Unless your being paid to chip the brash you won't make it work with a small chipper and a tractor trailer chip shuttle.
  3. Junkari chippers are made out of tin foil !! Must be a problem with your chipper as i have used most biomass chippers and have found this and the dynamic conehead the best chippers and brash.
  4. Arran, if you let the brash brown off it's fine for CHP plants. Euro forest are the ones doing stumps and they can't make it work. Brash bailers working for Tillhill are operated by a sub-contractor and are heavily subsidised. They cannot work without being subsidised. The FC lets Tillhill bail 80 % of brash on sites where the harvester forwarder does not have to run on brash mats. A HM 300 is a fine chipper BUT you really need bigger if your going to deal with whole trees. It's not the stem diameter it's the crushing power on the branch work which slows the chipping operation right down. Try Alex Price for Heizohack as they need a few modifications before you'll get the best out of them. You'll have nothing but problems straight out of the crate so to speak.

    our health

Completly agree Marc, shopping makes my back ache so bad i have to squat down after an hour or so. The key here if you have the motivation is train hard. Work does not keep you fit in this game it slowly destroys you unless you have perfect technique and lets face it that's just not possible half the time. Build up your core strength, stretch when you can and eat properly all this will extend your carear.
  6. Changing the subject that front girl in your avatar is stunning
  7. it adjusts the height of the tracks ?
  8. It was touch and go for a while there Peter !!

    Fun

My thinking to Jason that and i expect it would be a real balls ache to try and flip the line round the stem !
  11. Twas............................. Mud build up on the inside of the wheel rims, stupid sandy sticky crud lol
  12. It's not noise like a bearing mate, there is no noise she just shakes like big momma on a trampoline above 40 lol. It could be a wheel bearing but again i've had these issues before and it's not the same...off to Sollihull now so time will tell !!

    Fun

I thought that Steve, i bet they do !
  14. Drove to Manchester and back this am and the vibration is from 40 onwards with little peaks and troughs here and there. Got back home both wheels off, washed them out, pressure washed all round the brakes and hubs and put the wheels back on. Just having a brew and writing some emails then i have to goto sollihull so we'll see what occurs ! No play in steering arms, radius arms, panhard rod or anywhere else that i could see. May have a slight oil leak on the drivers side hub/half shaft.
  15. We'll see tomorrow Dean, i did give them a good blast out there's not much there. But then i guess when you consider how small the weights are they put on to balance the wheels it wouldn't take much to cause issues.
  16. There is still some mud on the inside of the front wheels, if i've washed it off unevenly then it all makes sense. If it is the front prop i'm buggered as 2002 03 Discos don't have CD lock fitted lol
  17. Operating a shredder just drove in and drove out later in the day, hard ground covered with sloshy sandy mud which was hard in places due to the heavy frost here last night. I noticed the vibration within minutes of hitting the highway and assumed it was thick mud stuck on the wheel rims as per previous experience. I'm a bit perplexed as after washing it i assumed things would improve. No major bangs or whacks in the quarry so i doubt it's the propshaft, i had a similar problem but not as bad on an old 300tdi 130 and it was a loose panhard rod so that will be the first thing i check in the light.
  18. Tyres look ok, brand new, well inflated, wheel nuts all appear tight. I only noticed this after washing it on the way to the gym and there is not alot i can do in the dark but i have to be in Manchester for 07:30 tomorrow...bugger. I hope it's not the propshaft !
  19. Posting this on here instead of a land rover forum because i want advice not 1000 opinions LOL I've had my Discovery down in a quarry today, i've thoroughly washed all the sand and mud off but i have a horrific vibration from the front end felt through the steering wheel. It starts at 40 mph backs of at 50 mph and comes in good and proper and makes the whole vehicle shake around 60 mph. Underneath it's virtually identical to a defender so all advise welcome. I'm thinking i've damaged the panhard rod ?
  20. Surely you would go through the same process as pelleting wood chip just with a bigger die ? The chip would need drying ?

    Job from hell !

Ok I'll let you off then mate, if i had known about AHS then i could have sold them the chip lol
  23. Any idea how high that was Pete ? Looked about 42.567 feet to me judging by camera angle, light refraction and BSV ?

    Job from hell !

For one it was 100' and for two i know what the unimog / trailer weighs and how much chip i can carry and how much i took off site. If your van carried 2 ton of chip and you did 5 loads that's 10 ton of chip. Would you then accept it if that fact was questioned ? I took 30 ton of waste of that site not just chip. Logs and rakings as well.
