  1. If you get stuck mate you can stop at mine, i'm about 90 mins from Cirencester which isn't ideal but heh wtf lol
  2. Ha ha nice, complete with 'what are you going to do about it' expression lol
  3. I agree, and it varies from person to person on each site as well. I had a static site near my old yard and most were ok, one guy and his family took the pee which i won't go into and got sorted out by their own lol
  4. Nice log pile ! Was that Craig i spied with his back to the camera lol
  5. I wouldn't, that machine is meant for road work and is very very expensive. AHS were looking at them before i left. They build the old square cab version for proper work lol That model actually has in the manufacturers litriture that it is not to be used off road !! Bloody smart looking though, hate to think what that cost him !
  6. That's called a scrub master and probably won't give the man the finish he requires. The also shear bolts very easily if they hit a stump.
  7. A smaller tractor based mulcher will be ideal, will need quite a few pass's to get it really fine but you'll get away without a 360. It will also destroy any stumps left in situ which maybe another bonus to your client
  8. Buzz

    Winches

Why hire in a unimog for a few branches when you've already said you can get a vehicle near the site ? Seems like a hell of a waste of 500.00 !! Be good to see some pics of this one mate !
  9. Yeah you require a forestry mulcher either on a dedicated base like the ahwi on tracks, or one of many that fit on rear drive large tractors i.e fendt etc. Depending on the site beware of flying debris, despite what you'll be told it'll fly everywhere. Depending on what material you are mulching and the volumes involved you may need an excavator with a brash rake working with the mulcher wind rowing the material. If you get stuck for no.s call me - 07545 255 827
  10. That looks like a great bit of kit Steve ! Yep no longer with AHS but in the same area just doing it better so keep hold of that email i sent you mate
  11. Nice job guys, glad to see i'm not the only one who used a mog and trailer and cut the brash up in the back lol Who were you subbing for Rhys? I'm sure i recognize a couple of those guys..
  12. They probably ment the electrical test, all electrical equipment has to be checked once a year in that environment. Damn funny though !
  13. Cool well the new ones are teflon coated as i recall. Will try that in the future
  14. When you say soft link are you talking about quick draw slings that are used as part of the protection on rock climbing ? If so i wouldn't be happy with the abrasion that can occur close to your harness in tree work..
  15. Blimey Mark i remember drinking tea with you in my flat in Aldershot when you came to meet Anna and i ref. having that young girl on work placement (who's name i forget) ! Small world !
  16. Will you get the flow/pressure required without the chipper revving it's nuts off ? Would make for a very noisey hydrulic power pack i would have thought ?
  17. Yes I am being thick lol isee what you mean, krab and pulley still on strop doh !
  18. Not if you cut the vt above the pulley unless i'm being really thick ! You realeasing the wire core so you can decend on your mainline ?
  19. Wire core, have done for years, why's that ? Pulley is a bugger to get on if it's fixed cheek though.
  20. Steve, how's the new truck going ? Any action pics yet
  21. I use a VT with micro pulley on mine anyway no rope grab so if the brown stuffs hits the fan i can cut myself out of it with the knife on my harness.
  22. No, I know Roger well he is a sound guy. He had contamination issues as his site isn't the tidiest in the world is it lol !! I negotiated AHS taking his chip again but it now goes to Runcorn to be screened before the power stations will accept it hence more in the chain so i expect he gets next to nothing for it at the moment. If he builds up a good track record again it will go straight into Shotton and his price will go back up. The demand for biomass chip will only get higher. I was made redundant due to a change in corperate stratergy making my postion dead in the water. If anybody still requires large chippers on site and chip away it can be arranged
