  1. It is should be 7000kg GTW
  2. Pete, thats slightly incorrect. There are two gross weights for a vehicle. Gross vehicle weight and Gross train weight. So for example my landy is 3500kg GVW and 700kg GTW, the Landy is still only 3500kg GVW regardles of wether its towing or not. therefore what ever its towiing won't reduce its load carrying ability. What people do need to be carefull of is they don't exceed the gross train weight. Sorry if the above seemed picky - I'm a towing anorak!
  3. £15 to steep to enter what is basically a big market!! SED & Hillhead are free to pre registerd visitors why does APF fleece the punter and exhibiter? I think two shorter demo circuits would be better with detailed maps at start of each telling whats on each makes it easier to pick and choose what people see. More drinks stalls about.
  4. wasn't mine 4 of us went and two objected to sitting in the back so took a mates 110 with more lights than mine!!!
  5. had no problem at all, my mate had a satnav that remembers where you last parked!! it can then take you back to it:001_smile:

Dean, we were saying the demo circuit wasn't as good as Ragley 04 & 06 I'm sure fuel prices are a big part of that even Red is to dear to be burning on demo after demo.. It would perhaps be nice if on APF years the AA could hold the trade fair at the same location? it does mean two different organisations working together though. That would also have the benefit of the AA being fairly central as opposed to southern bias? Perhaps also there should be two smaller demo loops, small medium sized kit on one and big kit on the other, not seperate them as two different industries but to make it easier to pick and chose and have a tea break in between?? drinks stopps were few and far between on this years demo circuit.

Dean, not saying there should be a brick wall I'm just saying that there seemed to be enough arb stuff there to the naked eye, just like people ares saying there was to much forestry kit, we'd have actually liked to have seen a few more scrub clearence demos's but hey thats life!

Steve - we do but I fail to see why the arb lads insist on changing a forestry show? when no one is asking for the AA to change to a forestry show? Another way of looking at it for example is Lee to turn up to a landy show and moan there isn't enough ford ranger stuff there. that's like arborists changing the apf. And anyway steve your point works both ways as for all the arb lot that have winged about the demo circuit why not just avoid that! - but then is the answer to have both shows on the same site with split admission costs? rather than adding more arb stuff and putting up the ticket price which is probably what will happen. From the view point of someone that carrys out more forestry type work it seems tree surgeons think they are god and rule every roost. I've had my rant I won't persuade people to my view point so I'll be off to enjoy my sunday!

Sorry mate I diasagree I'll say it til i'm blue in the face its primarily a forestry show. Therefore forestry should be the prime exhibit. I get sick to death of hearing arb guys want more climbing at a forestry show. You don't get many foresters asking for a forwarder invasion of the AA. We go for saw deals etc we don't go to AA to look at forwarders. Let APF be APF and the AA be the AA. if people arn't carefull both events will be ruined, trying to please everyone! Apf is primarily for foresters with a bit of Arb and the AA is primarily arb with a tad of forestry seems about right to me or is a case of everyone has to bow down to the mighty climbers? perhaps also the Arb lot can't actually justify the high pitch cost to demonstrate climbing?

I'm not saying get rid of arb from the apf i'm just saying apf doesn't need anymore arb stuff. as bored as lot of arb lads were walking around the demo circuit thats how we felt walking past tents full of ropes and more ropes!

I can't see why everyone is so fixated with arb stuff at a forestry show. we spent 5hrs on the demo circuit and less than 1 looking at the arb stuff. They have the AA every year for the arb stuff. personally as someone who doesn't give a dam about climbing I don't wanna see anymore climbing at the apf! likewise I'm not asking the AA to have a load of forwarders and site clearence stuff at the trade fair. In my mind there are a lot of retailers at the apf catering for the aborist.

we had a great day out in the sun yesterday. I wasn't to keen on paying from the vehicle, thought it worked better the old way. Once in the show although it was good I thought the layout of the demo circuit at Ragley in 04 & 06 was better. As for there not being much climbing well, I'm glad really its a forestry show and thats why I went!! I didn't bother going in any of the arb retailers tents you can do that at the AA every year!. I like Apf for the forestry stuff and don't complain at the aa when there isn't much forestry kit different shows for different things. on the whole a good day out

  20. its a weekly occurance in winter on our jobs, as Skyhuck says plug out dry the air filter and get it running agian!
  21. Sorry Sky huck should have perhaps spelt it out in black in white that the people I was refering to are very good friends not just aquaintences. Therefore we do things as we do out of good manners I'm not saying everyone has to do it that way. As to patches certainly round here in the more rural parts there are contractors associated with various patches
  22. I'd ring him, I've often been asked to quote on jobs very close to or on some of my mates patches and have allways rang them out of courtesey we've even discussed pricing in the past if one wants it more than the other!
  23. not up north but these people could supply the kit for you to fit yourself, http://www.superwinch.co.uk/
  24. Dean google Tornado Motorsport, they build cages for anything no problem. not expensive either highly recommended.
  25. Thats exactly what our local timber yard does on account customers invoices. 1 fiqure if paid by X date. Second fiqure with 15% on if paid after X date.
