  1. The one I hate with a passion and makes my blood boil:scared1: "Can you just!!"" I hate those 3 words! "Please can you or Would you mind" gets a much nicer response.
  2. I bet he was Dean, So I take it he will soon have a nice shiny new one?
  3. LOL trust me having just bought a genuine John Deere trailer for a childs pedal tractor I can say they are very expensive!
  4. I think this is going to be an interesting thread. For a long time I have seen and heard Climbers talk to the groundies like they are some 2nd grade citizen. There often seems to be an air of big headedness from the climber as they think they are better because they can/will climb. I think a good groundie providing they are good should be paid accordingly. obviously only if they are worth it, but a good groundie that can carry out all that is required of him from the climber and more besides is worth it; I know groundies that can operate chippers/lowering equipment but are also qualified to drive 18 tonners and operate huge Hiabs/ forwarding kit while over seeing the chapter 8 traffic management these people do deserve to be noticed.
  5. :confused1: Cor glad I run hydraulic looking at all that electrickery! LOL On serious note Guys these people here at PG Winches http://www.winchrepairs.co.uk/mambo/index.php Know winches inside out and are excellent at over the phone advice and very quick at supplying parts. Both the guys there worked for superwinch for over 20 years the web site isn't up to much but they are top people.
  6. Ok its probably going to be a bit of a pain the neck but at the end of the day it could save a life. I am not a fan of the nanny state and loads of legislation but I feel itb would be good to have trailer MOT's and SVA's for home made trailers.
  7. Quick reply. Test is good.
  8. Yep it certainly works charlie, we use it felling down river banks.
  9. Before anyone buys cleentech, Search LRO and Lr4x4 forums for "cleantech" and "Chrissyboy" There has been an awfull lot of forum discussion about this company I'd read an awfull lot of it and then make your mind up. I've read most of it and to be honest wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.
  10. I bought some stuff in aerosols last time i did mine, it stuck like you know what to a blanket. I'll dig the can out tomorrow and post details. was about 6 quid a can i needed 8 for mine.
  11. Andy daft thing was it was one of the largest sixth form colleges in the county! H&S is a priority LOL!
  12. Went to fetch a load of timber rings on Sunday am couldn't get them all on fridays night. Got to the site to see that the Large black Poplar we had picked out as being dangerous in the march gales had dropped a large branch across the roof of a corsa! Now the customer has a rather large bill for both daage to car, highways tree gang for their time and they still need to pay us to carryout the work we suggested in march they said they couldn't afford!
  13. Had a small Oak tree to take down to day. It was damage in the high winds a few weeks ago, had a horrendous lean one way way and was generally looking a mess and in the wrong place. It was also in the grounds of a college. Today it got the chop it was a bit of a shame but it wasn't the best of trees. We are going back in the autumn to plant a nice big new one to replace it. Thanks to stuart (DM Saws) And Chris "Ugly" Bond for their help on the job.
  14. Nice piece of kit Charlie, which organisiation is in charge of the desilt?

    AA @ Ciren

Perhaps mate its because some of us only have one vehicle! that and the fact that wives/girlfriends etc still need the car on a work day. Steve I take your point about fuel last year but when you think the APF show isn't as far as 30 miles from our doorstep is a huge show and has a lot to look at as opposed to a 260 mile round trip 4+ hrs driving and a show that from what I saw last year is a 10th of the size of apf it all adds up to saving money!

    AA @ Ciren

I wouldn't be so sure, I know a few firms/lads from up here that would have gone. But running Landy's/transits from here to Cirecester and back would have cost us over 70 quid. That makes for a dear day out! not all of us run two vehicles.

    AA @ Ciren

fuel prices and it being APF so much closer to home this year kept me away.
  18. Andy you hit the nail on the head there! thats exactly why I didn't go would have cost over 70 quid in derv then entry, food etc a dear day out! May have done it if it wasn't Apf this year. APF is 80 miles closer and 10times as big roll on September!
  19. BFG AT, I've ran both the generals will stick like superglue but wear out horrendously quickly. You'll get at least 60k out of a set of BFG i've heard stories of twice that! I run muds and am on my 2nd set of BFG first set did 75k second set are upto 30k. I don't find them noisy at all but then again I allways have the stereo on!
  20. I have a friend who's father bought a Renault version it grosses at 5.5 ton has low box and diff locks. other than that it has less creature comforts than a seriesI landy!! theirs is ex military too but they have had to do a bit of work to get it through an SVA test. They also used to have a Renault Boughton that had a similar PTO setup to a landy on the front for a winch.
  21. yeah apf is far more my scene, I don't dangle from ropes so the AA isn't really my thing, apf on the other hand big shiny machinery certainly is!
  22. 999 are there, I stayed at work to. couldn't justify £85 on a day out, not when its apf this year!
  23. Evening mate, how ya doing sorry can't help with fish!
