The hitchclimber needs at least one oval biner in order to keep everything aligned properly, however the choice of oval 3 way biners has been very limited up till now. Cost £14.80

My local plant hire depot had two Maxes, someone poisoned the pair of them in order to steal a 10 tonne excavator.

I have had similar discussions with staff at some centres, others are absolutely fine to the point of turning a blind eye to builders signwritten pickups shovelling tonnes of rubble out. I just pick and choose where I go now.

All the jobs I'v been on where we had to bring in a bat man (or woman), were commercial jobs where the client could well afford to pay, and the costs of the survey were small change compared to the overall cost of the project. In those circumstances I think its a small price to pay for bat conservation. In small domestic jobs a bit of common sense goes a long way, and bat awareness isnt expensive or complicated. All in all bats deserve a bit of respect, imo.

Not really tried it on a windy day, but I had one of the incredible disintegrating proclimber cubes and it is a vast improvement on that!

This one was blocking up with wet but leafless poplar! I think it was a 790, although I could be wrong about that.

There is so much confusion over all this, even from those in authority, dvla, police, vosa ect. B+E entitles you to tow a trailer of up to 3500kg, with a towing vehicle of up to 3500kg (all MAM weights obviously), provided the vehicle and trailer plated weights are adhered to etc.

If the plate says 7500kg, then your B licence doesnt cover you regardless of what other exemptions may apply. That is my opinion. If you did get pulled, even if there is a loop hole that covers you, the officer who stops you may not even be aware of it. Even if you are in the right, they can make things very awkward for you.

I have used a big woodsman, wasnt overly impressed. It didnt seem to have the ability to pull in or crush as it should, and the chute would block constantly unless the flap underneath it was open all the time. Havent used the conehead personally so i cant really compare the two.

Keep the rope as vertical and straight as possible at all times. So when you bring your feet up and make the lock, before standing up on it tuck your feet under your bum, and get straight before standing up. That way you wont waste energy by pushing horizontally away from you, all your effort goes into vertical lift. Hope that makes sense. Slow down to concentrate on technique, try to make everything flow together in one smooth action, lock, thrust, push up all in one smooth continuous motion.

Have you ever thought about getting them shotblasted and clear lacquered? Thats what I always do with my trucks.
