  1. Jackie Stallone! Quality mate:biggrin:
  2. BBC? Pah! AJE - Al Jazeera English
  3. My mate had one in Black and it was very quick but not as quick as the Mrk 1 we raced to a nightclub one night, both cars 5 up the Mrk1 lost us.
  4. My groundy, who has disappeared since travelling to Morocco has a nice Mrk1 Golf GTI which he will not sell to me, instead he's got a 1.8 T Audi engine to put in it, one of my most favourite cars.
  5. You'll have to ask Drew what measurements he uses. So from your first mark count down eight strands then mark a ring. For 24 strand from the ring mark I count down five strands take out a pair then count four, take two strands, count four again take out two strands then 5 then 4, 4 again then five, so from the ring mark you go 5-4-4-5-4-4-5. For twenty strand rope mark count down 5-4-5-4-5-4 This is how I do my splices, others may differ in their approach and application.
  6. I mean doing less than 24x the rope diameter, tapering will help but don't go crazy.
  7. I just do 24 x the diameter of the rope, class one splice although the older type AP is supposed to be spliced with a Class 2, Drew has had his AP splices tested by treetools with very good break results both class one and locking brummel splices, I have spliced AP with shorter burys but really the longer bury is really not much of a problem and soon gets more supple with use. I will say, especially with the older AP with the Spectra core is to get a very sharp pair of scissors or knife for cutting as it's easy to make a mess of the core with crappy scissors. Oh, forgot to say I cut my cord around 1 meter in length then splice, but it all depends on what you like in a hitch cord. Practice on cheap double braid before you tackle the more expensive cord.
  8. A nice long bag.
  9. Nice work, is class 1 the recommended splice for the new AP?
  10. I read there's a new AP coming out.
  11. Vision and skills!
  12. Ta, I was given a seized 254 some years ago, maybe a winter project, well, one of them.
  13. Spud, how much does the piston cost for the 254?
  14. Google is your friend. Edelrid Roka-e Cambium Saver
  15. Good on them! Bet your daughter is well chuffed.
  16. Superb!
  17. Used the RW with pin today on a Beech deadwood, works very well. The thread starter knows more about the incident send him a PM.
  18. I did wonder what you were doing back down here at the weekend Paul.
  19. How about indivdual tiny cages around each berry?
  20. No, I have not had the chance to use the RW with the pin yet, obviously I take great care when climbing but much more so with a unfamiliar system and after hearing of a friends near accident with the RW I am even more cautious. Using a new system I tend to wait until I'm doing a job that I can take my time on so I'm not distracted by time pressures.
  21. Ball lock pin, button - 5/16" DIA x 1.0 long. I must say that a push button pin may not be a good idea, it's very easy to push and release.
  22. Get a pearl job on it.
  23. Send me a camera and I will. Would be interested in seeing one too. Really want to see how it works on real climb. Also how easy are those pins to get or where can they be sourced? If they can be attached midline I could see myself making use of one. I got the Pins from a friend in the states they are made by Vlier and supplied by Industrial Supplies from Reid Supply. SRT is fine but DRT is still king in my opinion.
  24. I use them for blocks but I also use deadeye slings, depends on what is available or what I may have left behind that day.
  25. The pins came today, I have glued a spacer to the pin to eliminate the side to side movement. Steve and Paul, the pins are on the way to you.
