  1. Did you see this? I posted it on FB. Never been snowboarding. Sexual snowboarding on Vimeo
  2. I couldn't feed one of my eye splices through.
  3. Yes you can but without the removable pin it on the RW you will have to thread the rope through the RW, I swap between single line and double line but it is VERY important to have a correctly tied hitch that will grab immediately should you slip. 4. Ah, I see. Thanks.
  5. Ah ha, simple, thanks Drew.
  6. Has this ever actually happened to you Carl, where your TiP has been compromised and you've had to quickly re-tie elsewhere? I can only envisage my TIP about to collapse to force such a drastic measure in which case I'd just un-clip and let the whole thing go whether SRT or DdRT. Yes. Just saying. I have heard all the pro SRT views and I totally agree.
  7. You cannot use a normal hitch climbing SRT, well you can but because you are only on one leg of the rope you will burn the hitch cord out very fast, this is because all your weight is on one rope where as climbing Ddrt your weight is shared between both legs of your rope, the RW acts as a friction device, slowing down your decent enabling you to use a normal hitch on the single line without it burning out.
  8. The great thing about the RW with the removable pin is you can change between Ddrt and SRT very easily, I have found sometimes that my first TIP is not suitable or high enough for my liking, I will swap over to Drdt, stowing the RW in a pocket and advancing higher safely until I can re-tie, clip the RW back on the line and continue SRT.
  9. Say if your TIP is on one stem and you are working on another stem maybe some distance away, you get into some difficulty for some reason and your TIP gets compromised by something, if you are tied to that point how do you untie that TIP remotely without having a long tail on your TIP knot? Or, if you are tied at the base of the stem it's still a bit of a faff to pull your line through to re-tie your main line TIP, but I am probably missing something? EDIT: I am not slagging off SRT as I find it very useful, especially now with the RW.
  10. I have one, the ability to be able to change your TIP easily.
  11. Unicender has CE approval I believe.

  14. First tree looks like old lightning strike, nice.
  15. You'll have to get a Wraptor Reg.

  17. My Mrs took the kids on the march in town, the youngest was afraid it was going to kick off like the riots earlier this year.
  18. Got this of Facebook. When the government decide we can have a day off for the royal wedding it doesn't damage the economy, but when the workers decide to strike for a day it costs the UK economy half a billion.... Is there something funny going on? You lot, work harder for longer and less whilst us millionaires rule over you laughing at how easy it is to fool you.
  19. Thread title is a little confusing, where's he going to go, I thought he was freelance? He did pretty well getting some good publicity for his new DVD.
  20. Love the fence through the tree. Carving by Bristol airport, excellent!
  21. I sent Paul at Marlow a email asking about the splice for this rope. Here is his reply. The splice is similar to the one that’s been used in Abseil ropes for many years. It’s not the same as the splices used on doublebraid or the cover dependent climbing ropes like Gecko and XTC. Essentially the way it’s formed is to extract the cores at the eye then put them back into the cover passing them around the eye in the opposite direction to the cover, the tapered cores are then buried in the standing part under the cover. Finally the (tapered) cover is also buried alongside the cores. We wouldn’t normally recommend safety critical ropes like this are spliced by users and so unfortunately don’t have instructions that I can send out, I only have our internal QA documents for this process.

    Brash Cart

Well the first one seemed terribly close to an existing design already on the market. (Allegedly)

Looks like they had to do a quick rethink on the orginal design.
  24. Thanks for posting that Roger, the muffler mod and timing advance really woke the saw up.
  25. Drew, have you got the removable pin for the RW? It makes the wrench much more user friendly.
