  1. Sadly this does happen. There's a thread on here somewhere about a similar occurence. It sucks. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/general-chat/25785-timbewolf-3-500-a-2.html Is another example of something maybe a bit sketchy, have a read through. I put "chippers ebay' into our own search facility, and several other warning have been issued. I know this doesnt help you retrieve your money, or get the chipper, but once bitten twice shy eh?
  2. Nothing wrong with maintaining a standard:001_rolleyes:
  3. I take it you must be a great climber 2Bob, cos I'd hate to try and read your CV
  4. I take it you pay a fee for the staff, they pay the staff and deduct so much on hour from their income?
  5. Ok, seriously, how many of you would employ agency staff? Have any of you experienced agency staff, from home or abroad? If so, thoughts? There is only a market if we want a market.
  6. I'll be there to balance up the North/South divide:thumbup:
  7. Unfortunately, as moderators, we have to endeavour to keep the good ship Arbtalk steering on as straight a course as possible. Sometimes this means dealing with items that may be deemed offensive to others. Regardless of nationality, colour, creed or anything else we try to maintain things in an unbiased manner possible, with fear nor favour to our membership. Now we do have rules, as does any society, to guide us, but as mods most of the time we try to give as much leeway as possible to keep things amicable, all we ask is a little cooperation from the rest of you guys out there
  8. BTS Training at Needham Mkt, Suffolk
  9. I take it there will be a fee for your agency? If so surely you'll be competing against the currently free Arbtalk employment forum, Arbjobs.com etc. There is a reason many are struggling to seek work, and thats the fact is there are more arbs than available work out there. Another small point, companies such as Arbjobs pay to advertiise their services here, you may be advised to contact the forum owner Steve Bullman concerning this, so as not to "tread on toes".
  10. Always good to see new blood coming into the job, and from across the world, welcome to AT Rachis:thumbup1:
  11. Hayford, For further details please phone Tarby Davenport on 01359 240724 or email [email protected]
  12. 3 quite meaningful pics, Hoppy the blackbird (only survivor from last years brood, near death experience with sparrowhawk resulting in losing a leg) residig in our garden. Muntjac in our little charity "green space" near the henge, and snake (slightly deaded), showing how nature is colonising a once barren field. Things I missed a pic of, goldfinch on the garden stamping over a dandelion stem to pick off the seed heads, house sparrow looking in the window at a fly on the inside!
  13. Mr Humphries, you are now bordering on certifiably insane Looks "interesting", though totally beyond my comprehension now.
  14. The best "snap-on" braces are those favoured by builders, available from all good building suppliers. Well strong, designed to do the job and around 15quid. Sort of thing worn by Tommy Walsh (Ground force) but in many different designs.
  15. Ok, I'll admit it, I need some help! My plan to have an array of forestry equipment has fallen by the waysde as its now out on site away working. So..... I need some help with other kit for either a static display or a working display (aerial such as a simple climb or rigging) We have some nice trees to play with, camping is available, and there is a bar nearby.
  16. I disagree, employment was only higher because machinery and technology was not as efficient as today. More staff were required to produce goods. Labour was cheap, to the extent many lived in abject poverty with little chance of escaping, regardless of how hard they worked. I dont know of any of the "old boys" who would revert back to the ways of working in their youth, they acknowledge how fortunate we are today. Yes we have a safe welfare state, to catch the vulnerable, as yes it gets abused. Yes, we should have a form of National Service to give youngsters a sense of purpose, but civilian based tasks rather than military. We should look back at history, not with rose-tinted specs, but to learn from past errors to make the country better for our future.
  17. The hype on terrorism is certainly fuelling anxiety. Of course, we should not become complacent in the aftermath of OBLs death, there will be others. But we do not need the irresponsible media to keep the momentum going. The chanting "USA USA" mob, well they were no better than the AK toting flag burners in the Middle East, mob mentality at its worst.
  18. Unlikely, the human race is too selfish, wouldnt be long before everyone started bickering about patches and crap
  19. Run a motor with insane gas guzzling potential, ideally just down the shop for a latte and drop the kiddywinks off at school. Hell, when its gone its gone.
  20. Treehouse went down this am as well, typical, went there to get my fix and ......... nothing!
  21. Welcome to the forum.....Bob:thumbup1:
  22.
  23. You cant park like that!!
  24. Mr Ed is still actively posting on other forums, he no longer posts here through his own choice. I believe he is still in the biomass industry.
