  1. We used to live in a world where people used to do stuff like this purely out of the goodness of their hearts, unfortunately these days it’s more likely just for Instagram hits/social media stunts
  2. I get that, but there’s not much need really. If a sling is too long double wrap it. Only time I’d want to be able to adjust something precisely would be to cinch up on a spar where i wanted a retrievable anchor
  3. Of course if its not retreivable half the hardware is basically redundant. You could achieve the same thing with one pulley and a suitably rated sling.
  4. Just arbtalk? The internet in general isn’t really the place for sensitive people these days unfortunately. Don’t tarnish arbtalk with that brush 🤦🏻‍♂️
  5. No not viable. Replace the karabiner with a steel pear shaped mallion that you can crank up tight then maybe
  6. Stihl do one though, just saying
  7. The majority of cleaners use a Henry, that should tell you all you need
  8. Yes
  9. I had a hakki pilke 1x37 for several years. I'd say it was pretty good for arb waste but only due to the fact that the guarding was minimal and easily removed. The later models are a different animal I believe. Choose a machine which is easily accessible as you will spend a fair amount of time maneuovering pieces and having to straighten up bits in the splitter bay compared to cutting poles.
  10. Absolute nonsense. We can...it just takes 5 times longer.
  11. Don't worry, Northumberland Park Authority have a clear handle on the situation and have already concluded that it was felled on purpose rather than accidentally. Northumberland National Park Authority officials believe the tree, known as Robin Hood's Tree, was "deliberately felled" and asked people to stay away.
  12. I mean overdue could be partially due to all the protests for one!
  13. Did warn you not to expect the apf
  14. sometimes the small shows can be more enjoyable, less pressure, more time to actually talk to people, and a few solid leads can be more beneficial that a ton from price shoppers.
  15. Can’t blame the police for not wanting to do the job really. bit of a tough one though. Chris Kaba case: Soldiers on standby as armed police hand in guns APPLE.NEWS Soldiers are on standby to protect Britain from terror attacks after firearms officers handed in their guns over a decision to...
  16. Yes, still approximately twice as hard as you though
  17. It’s turned a bit for sure. Last year when the prices started going up we decided to resist as long as we could. We did buy a little fan heater just for in the bathroom for when we showered. My partner was always going to be the issue as she’s no fan of the cold but she did pretty well, in fact it got to the stage that we both became quite stubborn about the whole thing. Then one night we were sitting in the sofa freezing cold and decided the whole thing was getting a bit silly! We will resist again this year but have a 8 month old to consider now

  19. Hmmm good luck with that. In 21 years of tree work I can't remember once cutting down a hollow Euc!
  20. Wood or woodchip requests need to go here please https://arbtalk.co.uk/recycling/
  21. I go private, been bodged up and left in agony by the nhs before now and would never go back. As my dentist told me, they basically just patch things up rather than solve problems long term.
  22. A lot of people are struggling financially at the moment, this sort of stress can manifest itself in all sorts of ways
  23. Matter of perspective. His opinion carries no weight with me and obviously not you either, but there are plenty who will buy into what he’s offering
  24. Quite possibly all true to one extent or another, he’s a self confessed sexaholic. He’s also being quite vocal lately about a lot of things and has quite a large following….good way to shut him up if you wanted to get all conspiracy theorist about it
  25. A lot of them can seem ok, till they're not
